he's three. (and he has a younger sister and brother, so this will be ongoing fun-time.) but I think I'll talk to me mum about it; see if she thinks it'd help to say anything directly to either the mother or the grandparents (with whom the kid and the sister live).

that's a tricky situation for you. do you tend to work with someone else? that might help in talking to the parents...although I've always thought it made it more difficult to deal with the kids.

(is there photographic evidence of Brandon's adventures in cat fur? he'll love to be reminded of that when he's older. Razz)

Yeah, consulting with others is always helpful in these cases - an objective perspective can be VERY helpful.

My co-teacher is a mom, so I ususally either have her pass on concerns or make sure that she's involved in the conversation. That helps a lot.

Videographic evidence, in fact.

ah-ha. I like passing off the parent-dealings to other people. Razz sad that you need a go-between, though, but at least you do have one.

heh - nothing really. The arm-over-the-head thing is just something he's been doing lately; and the odd-curious expression is something like what he gets everytime i point that little silver box with the light at him. Smile

I know! Frown

Being taller than mom is too much fun.

(I occasionally can sneak one in when we're watching TV)

I've given up trying with Graeme. He's a hooligan like his dad - that head's a lethal weapon.

*applauds Dev*

Yes, yes they are.

Kidlet has expressed a wish to visit his dad on Friday, which is his dad's birthday - kidlet wants to buy party food and a cake, and invite his dad's friends (but only knows the name of one of them). The friends won't be there - they will be at work, still - and I've had to explain to kidlet that it will just be a picnic at daddy's house with just me, him and daddy. Neither of us have been to ex's flat in more than a year.

I will do this, and go shopping with kidlet for this, and take a book, and smile and make nice, because it is a really sweet thing for kidlet to want to do, but my stomach feels like it is full of acid at the prospect.

You are awesome. And you rock.

And I hope someone can watch kidlet for a few hours later so you can get deservedly trashed. Razz
