Is she learning the lyrics to TMBG lyrics on her own? They're very effective at keeping the evil brainwaves from taking over your skull.

We went to school today with Kasper. The first five minutes went well. And then, just when everyone was quiet, he started to cry. And not just the usual quiet "mom, I'm a little hungry" cry, but the kind of scream that was probably heard through the entire campus. I thought it best to leave. He calmed the minute we got out of the auditorium. But it's ok. I was told the lecture was pretty boring anyway and the lecturer didn't have anything to say really.

After that we spent some time in the student room (and got some comments on how the freshmen are seem so young nowadays Wink ). Anyway, I think I'll study the course at home and just take the test.

Oh, there's going to be a little article about us in a baby magazine. They wanted to make one about a family with a little baby and both parents studing, and we volunteered. Smile

Wait, so it comes to be that you volunteered to have Kasper just in order to be in that article? It seems a lot of effort just for that Razz

Zoe really digs the Ramones. Last night, she rewatched Rock and Roll High School. She was dancing along to the songs ("which one's Joey?"), and would run up to me to say "Can I dance with my guitar? I wanna be like the Ramones!"

Aria was coloring last night, and when she was done she spread out the papers all over the living room. I asked her three times to pick them up, and she filnally looked at me and said in her two-year-old munchkin voice, "Blah, blah, blah." Complete with moving-mouth hand gesture.

It's really hard to discipline a kid when you're laughing uncontrollably.

Two firsts in the last 24 hours!
First number one. Molly went to the hospital. It was just an over night, and she's home now and doing much much better (more at my blog), but it certainly was an adventure.

First number two. Molly took her very first teeny tiny baby steps this evening! And we even caught it on video! We were all playing in the kitchen, and Rae just happened to be playing with the camera, and we were all goofing off when she took her steps! It was pretty damn cool, and quite a fun surprise after the previous 48 hours.

I was shopping earlier today All Alone (tm). Kasper was home with Joakim. Then Joakim calls me and asks if I'm coming home soon, sounding really desperate. I ask what's wrong. He tells me Kasper is crying all the time and is only happy when Joakim walks around the apartment carring him. His diapers are dry and he's not hungry or anything, and he doesn't seem tired either. But I still have things I have to get. So I tell Joakim to try if he's happier naked. Apparently it's working, because Joakim doesn't call me again. When I get home Kasper naked is on the floor looking perfectly happy waving his arms and legs and watching Friends re-runs on TV. I wonder if I should be worried. About the TV, I mean.

About TV? How old's the kid? We stopped watching TV altogether for a while, but it's back now, mostly Food Network and TLC and Discovery with the occasional TMNT episode thrown in.

Kasper is 4 months now. I think it's just the petty moving pictures and voices that attract him, he doesn't understand much anything the do or say on TV. But I never leave him to watch it alone, if nothing else, there might be some loud voice that'll scare him.

(Keep in mind that I have no actual child-rearing experience or knowledge.) I might try to keep him away from the really twitchy fast paced stuff as much as possible (commercials, music videos, etc.). It would be a shame to kill his attention span off so early in life.
