Sleater-Kinney - The End of You

In my head, Corin Tucker is screaming at the top of her lungs. "I AM NOT THE CAPTAIN I AM JUST ANOTHER FAAAAaaaaAAAAN!!!" I love her. She's one of my favorite female vocalists.

------
"Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don't learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us. Cynics always say no. But saying 'yes' begins things. Saying 'yes' is how things grow. Saying 'yes' leads to knowledge."

You are a Player. There are no small parts, only small people, and we suspect that's due to malnutrition endemic to the period. Every night you're a different person, knave or king, man or woman, 875 roles in all. The ones the audience liked got you applause, and the ones they didn't got you pelted rotten vegetables. The theater is a harsh mistress, but you love her dearly. Plus, it beats working for a living!

'But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
'Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: 'we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.'
'How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice
'You must be' said the Cat 'or you wouldn't have come here'

You are a Farrier. You enjoy nothing more than seeing a well-fitted hoof. Just because it's an animal doesn't mean it can't have a touch of style. Try this pump; here's a stilletto; my, did you see the calves on that pony? Size 6? Oh, madame, really! Still, there are so many hooves, and so little time, and you often miss out on the fun (and the better meme results.)

I feel your pain!

my brain hates me (although it has been very quiet today, just playing the manic miner theme tune for a while).

I prefer to live in a country that's small, and old, and where no one would ever have the NERVE to wear a cape in public, whether they could leap tall buildings in a single bound or not.

trolls are like pigeons..keep feeding them and they keep coming back and shitting in your street.

See now, don't be putting video game themes into my playlist! I can't count the torturous hours of Phantasy Star II themes I've had to live through outside of playing the game. That stuff sticks like glue to the audial memory glands.

I have a shameful tendency to sing the Cheers theme when visiting the restroom in a bar. A sing-along will usually ensue with anyone who remembers the show.

Jamie and the Magic Torch is my favourite TV theme of all time because it pretty much introduced me to Rock at the tender age of 4 or 5ish.

Also, did you know the lyrics for 'Suicide is Painless' (theme from MASH) were written by Robert Altman's 14 year old son? Crazy 'memento mori' moment for teenager to have.
