That wasn't war, it was a defensive action. Every night, millions of moon rock hangs in the air above our children while they sleep. This heavenly body is clearly a national security threat. Cool

I prefer to live in a country that's small, and old, and where no one would ever have the NERVE to wear a cape in public, whether they could leap tall buildings in a single bound or not.

the parrot... ...gets tiresome.

2011 - Obama's coup fails

Yes, there is actually a game of that name.

quote:
It is the year 2011. The United States has become saturated with suspicion and unrest.
...
Americans, thoroughly disgusted with the socialistic programs that have been thrust upon them over the last few years, vote out seventeen of the nineteen Democrats in the Senate and 178 in Congress that were up for reelection.
...
Private Ownership of firearms has been outlawed, and Obama has promised a new era of equality and peace. Unfortunately for Obama, Americans would not act like the sheep he had taken them for. Revolution begins.

*scowls*
"Socialistic" programs. I can't believe I still live in a world where "socialist" is the scareword of the day.

Eh, it's the same world where "capitalism" is a scareword to others...

I'm kind of excited that they are visiting.

Also, he's the first American pres to speak to both Houses in Westminster Hall. This makes me happy.

I was in Westminster Hall today when he made his speech, and he passed close by shaking the hands of the audience on his way out. I got a lovely commemorative pamphlet Smile

His opening joke in his speech - that the list of former speakers in Westminster is either the demonstration of a high bar or the beginning of a bad joke - when down a treat.

They did a ticket raffle type thing for staff in work. Most of my mates were jealous!

Sarah and I both got spillover tickets, though Sarah didn't manage to pick hers up. I was in the Jubilee Room until they identified empty seats to fill, then we were moved into the Hall.

Also: the small table that Huw Edwards & Co from the BBC were sitting rounding was the table from my own office, I let them borrow it for the show Big Grin

Yeah, he hasn't done as much as he said he would - hasn't even tried to do as much as he said he would, but he's done better than I thought he would, honestly, and he's a pretty cool guy on top of it.

Obama is a corporate apologist slightly to the right of Ronald Reagan. If that is the best you can do your empire is history. Perhaps it's for the best.

As Brad Pit says in Killing Them Softly, “America is not a country. It’s just a business.”

The next neocon who gets in power will finish you.
