Tomorrow is a lamb-chop dinner, and i'm a little nervous.
Lamb-chops with rocket-pesto and salsa verde (to choose) we're starting on a fresh gazpacho. On the side a salad and baby thyme potatoes: i'm just unsure about what greens to serve...

Salad-base, and some different fun ones. Lollo rosso and yes frisee.
But the bloody *greens*!

Homemade chicken noodle soup. Hopefully it'll help the kid and I get over our colds, and help Rae keep it away. And it was COLD this evening, perfect soup weather.

so motivated, I fired up my ancient BBQ last night and slowly cooked a batch of chicken legs, finalized with this delightful honey garlic sauce to carmelize those last few minutes, and served with fluffy, sticky jasmine rice & peas

it was so super yummy n' cheap, gotta love it

I've been cooking for the last 12 hours. I don't even want to look at food.

I tried a half n' half quiche tonight
as in, putting asparagus on one half for myself in order to spare my picky eater hubby.
Otherwise, in the shell was mozzarella cheese, finely diced n' sauteed ham, diced red peppers. There was a dessert of pumpkin pie n' Cool Whip, as per the hubby's request.

Funny, if I was single, I tend to happily live on sandwiches n' stir fries. I love having a better excuse to cook.

Tomorrow night is chicken pot pie.

ps: I cheat on all my crusts, the shame of it

we're also in Tomato Heaven, but I'm full of corn, so I didn't have any. But I had some tomato sauce(almost soup) with black pepper and parmesan cheese and some wheat bread for lunch, so I'm not lacking in tomato-y goodness.

We had our first home-cooked meal since Thursday night! Friday, it was the other part of the gaming group's turn to cook, Saturday night Graeme and I weren't home to eat and ditto Sunday and Monday.

We had chicken and BBQ sauce pizza with pineapple and red bell pepper. The veggies were organic, at least. We also had corn that was still warm from this afternoon's sun, brought by my mother-in-law.

ummm....pizza I think. Brain is too gone to come up with anything original or interesting (although it -did- come up with a nice pot of black bean soup before it went walkabout).
