The Umbrella Academy on Netflix - based on a comic by Gerard Way (yeah, the My Chemical Romance frontman) - time travel, dysfunctional families, super humans, a talking monkey, Ellen Page, Robert Sheehan (from Misfits!), and... Mary J. Blige?!
I binged it over two evenings... very watchable.

I got sucked back in to This Is Us.
I stopped watching in Season 2 because of the things that happened with Kate & Toby around then (too close to home) but I kept seeing previews for whatever season is currently playing (4?) so I picked it back up.
It makes me cry in every episode and I love it and hate it.

Last night I went searching to see if Black Swan was streaming anywhere (it isn’t) and found Colette on amazon prime.

I have never read the Claudine books, never heard of Colette, and often I’m not really a fan of Kiera Knightley. But I think she’s growing on me. This story was delightful to knit along to, heavy accents on female empowerment, sexual freedom, transgender issues. I love that when she finds him cheating on her, she calls him on it. She’s not the least bit jealous or hurt by that he’s having sex with someone else, only that he didn’t tell her and just fell back on the tired ‘this is what men do’ excuse.

I guess I should read the books. I enjoyed this story.

I watched The Exorcist (1973) for the first time ever last night.
I might go on a classic-horror binge now. There are a lot I haven't seen.

Binged my way through Fleabag for the second time. I don’t have season 2 yet though. Watched Killing Eve, but won’t get season two until it shows up on hulu. Never watched the OA, so maybe that’s next.

Bingeing Schitt’s Creek because they didn’t release all the eps of the Mandalorian all at once.

Plotting a bingewatch of The Good Place, from season 1, before it comes back in January.

very excited to read that the BBC are bringing forward their screening of a new adaptation of Malory Towers.

Limertilly: A pagan deity forgotten by man and therefore banished to the realms of memory and darkness now remembered by a young girl in downtown L.A. in the form of a dream and therefore freed to reap your revenge on the people who discarded you, thereby forcing said girl to learn to use her innate yet awesome powers as a soothsayer to gather forces of the Earth to defy you and once more banish you to your cold, cold prisoooooon
