I have that in queue, but I've been lax in my video-viewing in the last month, so it'll be February before it shows up!

“Indeed m’lud. She’s marshalled all the haggle-dans. Missy-twigs and vale-nymphs from Claypole Woods. Apparently she intends to tear this house down and dance on the ruins.”

You're my long-lost non-identical twin, aren't you? Big Grin

How do Entourage and Big Love compare to the other HBO series? Especially the latter sounded interesting, but at the same time I thought, "Bill Paxton?!"

P.S.: I wonder how enjoyable Slings & Arrows is for people who've never done any theatre. Many of the chuckles I had came from thinking, "Yeah... remember that one!"

dunno, but it ought to be, a) because that show rocked and b) because it's a little older than Animaniacs.

oh, also Farscape.

and...okay, I know this is an odd one, but The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. is one of my most favorite things ever.

and Bones. it's still airing, of course, but I *heart* David Boreanaz and his crazy socks and attention-demanding belt buckles.

You mean, you didn't have one from when he was MacGyver? I loved him then, mullet and all.

Maybe they'll keep escalating and in a couple years he'll have a belt buckle that's just a big neon downward arrow.

it's not that I need help so much as I appreciate the extra emphasis.

Entourage is the male version of Sex in The City. It's not as complex as most HBO series in it's plot-lines, you've got the lovable gang of characters that are no doubt the subject of an OK Cupid quiz somewhere out there asking "Which Member of The Entourage Are You?" I enjoy watching it mostly because Jeremy Piven is brilliant. If it were a drink, it would be something gimmicky, like an espresso martini (yummy, fun, can drink several in a row) as opposed to Deadwood's slug of Patron (deceptively sophisticated, can only absorb so much into your system before you start committing illicit activities and cursing like Calamity Jane).

Big Love is absolutely absorbing. First of all, it's focused on a culture that non-Mormons only have a vague understanding of from trials over polygamy and child marriage. Second of all, it's sexy as hell for being a show about Mormons. Third of all, Bill Paxton...is FANTASTIC. Seriously. I never thought I would actually be typing that in a sentence without being ironic, but I adore his character (and sometimes hate his character, but that's a testament to the writing and the performance).

Oh, and I watched Slings & Arrows with TLOML, who isn't a theatre person, and he quite enjoyed it. I got a lot more out of it, for obvious reasons, but he really likes Geoffrey Tennant as a character. As do I...he's delicious. Yum.

(Talking of Slings & Arrows (which we've only seen the first season of so far), have you ever seen Don McKellar's Last Night? Great film about the end of the world, with a lovely pre-Grey's Sandra Oh.)

I know! Bill Paxton has always been Chet from Weird Science or that Marine from Aliens, neither of which are exactly attractive in any way. But his Big Love character is something else.

on the Richard Dean Anderson front...the mullet really didn't age well. MacGyver's still awesome, though, and is a good DVD choice. Smile
