Just a point of simple physics to note. Using the crowbar to move the gear thing, in the manner that ben did would not help, and could even possibly hinder him from being able to move that thing.

You Tivo'ed over the commercials, didn't you? Or went after a beverage? Haven't you learned not to do that during Lost, yet? Especially not right before the summer. I suspect it's kicking off the new ARG. |

Nah, just trying to keep up with two destructive puppies. Spent several of the commercial breaks cleaning up a dead bird and a chewed up exercise bike... **** Disobedience is the true foundation of liberty. The obedient must be slaves. Henry David Thoreau **** |

Any bets on what happens to the folks in the motor boat who were stuck shuttling from the Island to the freighter when they went boom! and pop! respectively? I have the feeling we haven't seen the last of Daniel Faraday.
On the off chance anyone is unfamiliar with the historical Jeremy Bentham, he was the guy who came up with the idea that punishment should be swift, severe, and certain. He's also the guy who came up with the idea of the panopticon. There's a lot in the Wiki article on him that I'd never heard before (as my exposure to his thought was entirely in the realm of criminology); it's interesting stuff. My next big thing to chew on is where Sayid is taking Hurley, and why. I suspect the time travel theory is officially out of the running now, which is a relief to me. |

Time travel's now confirmed, I should think. When Ben showed up in Tunisia, it was wearing that jacket, with a tear in the sleeve and an arm wound, and several years in the future. Which would explain why he was so singularly pissed off that entire time. His anger was still burning very brightly.

No no no -- I'm not denying that he traveled through time, just the explanatory power of wacky time travel theory I linked to a few pages back. Let me see if I can find it...it's this one. It attempts to account for everything that's taking place on the island based on the idea that the survivors (or anyone on the island) are stuck in a time loop. It's very creative and interesting -- but I think it's full of holes and would be very disappointed if it was the actual explanation.

Ah, that. Yeah, I think this episode put a bunch of holes in that theory. I don't doubt that The Others have some kind of teleporty/tesseracty thing that brings them to the island when they need to, I don't think it necessarily involves time, and not in the way that the theory has it.

I'm watching "Fringe" on Fox. JJ abrahms is executive producer. The guy who plays one of the new baddies last season, Lance Reddick, is in this one too. and its supernatural. if it weren't on Fox, I'd think there was a connection between the two shows...

We watched it last night. Felt like X-files: Next Generation. Good, but I'm not sure it hooked me. Hole in the Wall, which followed it, is like a train wreck. I can't help but stare. I'm Matt Cable and I approve this message. ________________________________________________ I'm alright. Don't nobody worry bout me. |

i'm not sure if i'll start watching Fringe yet. If I start watching it now, i'll probably only get a few episodes in before we move to Germany, and then not be able to finish the season.

All in all, I didn't really like Fringe. It almost seemed like it's sticking JJ's name on it, putting a couple special effects in there, and a secret organization, and they expect us to jump on board.

It was...intriguing. I feel like it has the potential to be good, but right now it feels gimmicky, like the executives at Fox went, "Ooh! Look! FBI agents investigating unexplained stuff! It worked before!"
~ Non-Mod-Amy, aka Amy of the Lost Ark You are a Bookholder. To prompt, or...LINE! (not to prompt) --not to prompt. That is the question. Whether t'is nobler to suffer the slings and arrows of a bad memory, or to take arms against a sea of textual deviations, and...LINE! (by opposing) --by opposing them...LINE! (end) --end...LINE! (them) --end them...LINE! (to prompt, to correct; no more; and by a correction to say we end the heart-ache of a really terrible performance) You didn't have to give me the whole thing! I know it! |

Any tips on how one does that without the forces of freedom knocking on the door five minutes later to rape my nostrils with oversized shellfish? |
