Could someone repeat for me Donna's dialog while sitting on the staircase after being offered the bowl of water?

I tried listening to it three times, but was unsuccessful in hearing or understanding it. It was either garbled in my copy, or she mumbled her lines. Oddly, the voice of the woman serving her who started out the dialog inquiring about the Scarab was perfectly clear.

Sorry Black Jacque - I think you're asking the wrong people about appearance - we just don't much care. Unless it's hairstyles, like DT's curiously unvmoving spikyness.

I thought that was the Drums theme when Donna was sitting on the steps! I missed a lot of dialogue because it's so hot we need the fan running. I also have to leave directions for my husband so that we can have the show to watch when I get home from the airport - he doesn't want to have to wait until Monday! Smile

Oh and Mark - that linky isn't available in my country. Frown

That is not true. People in this thread pay a lot of attention to the different actors.

For example, in the previous Dr. Who thread there were several posts on how Rose looked when she reappeared. To quote just one:

quote:

Yeh, and what has happened to Rose? Has she lost weight from her face?

Maybe, you just don't care much?

Jaque, that's different from your constant bitchy going on about how the actors look. Honestly, you sound like you read too much Heat.

I'm quite torn between wanting to slap RTD for bad writing, Billie Piper for atrocious delivery and Graeme Harper for not hauling either of them up on it...

You are a Leprechaun. I'm not even sure what you are. Whiskey-soaked reports from your baffling Isle of Ire raise more questions than they answer. Are you a dwarf? Where's your pickax? If you're an elf, why don't you cobble? You'd think with all your gold, you could invest in some land, perhaps a title, and improve your station. Instead, you hide it in meteorologically-determined locations. You're getting killed on inflation, little friend!

Nope. Either the Beeb have more dirt on their entire staff than the KGB and CIA put together or its a cop-out.

I'd call cop-out.

Yep, that was pretty much my reaction too.
Especially because, before I watched it, my local Dr Who-fan friend told me how great he thought that episode was, and how moved he was by it, and how he needed a whisky after it... which episode did he watch???

You are a Player. There are no small parts, only small people, and we suspect that's due to malnutrition endemic to the period. Every night you're a different person, knave or king, man or woman, 875 roles in all. The ones the audience liked got you applause, and the ones they didn't got you pelted rotten vegetables. The theater is a harsh mistress, but you love her dearly. Plus, it beats working for a living!

'But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
'Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: 'we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.'
'How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice
'You must be' said the Cat 'or you wouldn't have come here'

I'm most cross because it was otherwise fabulous, but the bad bad bad Rose bits let it down horribly.

I quite liked it, actually. I think RTD can be a pretty decent writer as long as he has someone around to yank the leash when he starts heading into slash-fic territory. And when he's gone easy on the amphetamines. When he does bad, though, he does abysmal.

it's amusing watching people argue themselves to death on the Doctor Who Wiki website.
