Remember the old thread with it's old, 8-bit posts? Well, this thread support 64-bit posts AND has smooth image transfer. Of course, this new thread isn't backwards compatible, but I'll transfer the most recent data over so we don't lose the thread of discussion entirely:

Chad - is going to be giving away his games on Sunday.

Furious - doesn't understand why the AI keeps sending his characters off of cliffs in the halls of might Asgard. And, incidentally, Dweller never figured out that one either. Stoopid AI.

Scought - can't finish off one game before moving to another one. Preach it, brother.

Thirith - is falling in lurve with FFX.

I may have missed something. Sorry. Feel free to repost it. And, as always, discuss.

Graf and I are have found a way to "keep" all the cool things (weapons, magic items, armor) indefinately.. we have a "resupply" station in another saved game.. as I understand it though.. it only works with the firat Champions of Norrath (which we're still playing) until we get a few of our characters to 50th level.. then we will be getting #2... and we're the type that won't start a new game until we finish the one we're currently on... graf's supervisior is into Norrath too and he is wanting to have a CoN game at his place.. Big Grin graf works for cool folk!

Not sure whether it's love, but it's definitely friendship. I wouldn't want to marry FFX and have its savegames, but I would definitely go to the cinema with it, have it over for a DVD and perhaps even contemplate taking it along on holidays. Smile

Has anyone else found the limitless flying bug in MUA? I found it in Asgard and "Mephisto's realm that totally wasn't hell." At some random points with a flying character, you could rise and just keep rising, fly "over" walls and land anywhere you want. I could only be in the PSP version.

Hmm...since no one answered the question in the old thread, I'll ask it again here in all this thread's next-gen goodness:

FFX veterans: who threw the ball to Tidus when you used the Blitz Ace overdrive?

For me, I think it was Lulu. Then I learned about all the affection points stuff but wasn't interested in changing it.

The (part in VII where you could go on a date with Barrett is genius) Scott

Yeah, it was Lulu for me too. There's another bit where you're on a snowmobile or something and the girl who sits behind you is determined the same way. That was Lulu again for me. I think it's mainly who you have in your party most.

I must be a Lulu fanboy then.

Hah, I never did go on a date with Barret. I thought it was a myth, but so many people claim to have done it, it must be true.

yai it is true.. but you Really have to be mean to the girls... just one act of "niceness" and you're not with Barrett... although Barret isn't that much of a date Big Grin

I was disappointed in the Barret date. I was really hoping he'd hit on cloud. Also, you can't do the play, which is the best part.
I also got Lulu. I think this is because the main factor in what determines who has the highest "Affection level" is the scene where she asks you how you feel about Yuna. It's a yes/no/hit on Lulu option tree. I don't know anyone that DIDN'T choose to hit on her.
"Crisis Core" comes out here in a MONTH! I won't be able to read it, of course, but I'm looking forward to nice FFVII swag at Tokyo Game Show!

I didn't hit on Lulu, mainly because I felt that Tidus wouldn't do it, and compared to some PC RPGs I never felt that the game wanted me to act as the main character. Is that silly? Smile

(I've defeated Yunalesca, and I'm now checking out all the places I've been to in order to find items that I hadn't gotten the first time and to level up Rikku, Wakka and Kimari.)

I liked Yuna. She was my date and all that. Honestly, she was a big part of the reason I got FFX-2

I've been playing Pokemon Pearl and Quake II (after id released their entire back catalogue on Steam for just $60+!). I feel like I'm back in my early teens. Cool

Actually I'm not sure that's a good thing.

Quake will always remind me of college. Many nights I should've been studying I spent playing LAN games of Quake.

I am somewhat annoyed with FFX right now. Here's why: is there any way to deduct what you have to do in order to get the Celestial Weapons? To me it seems like a combination of trial and error and of doing chores 'till you're fed up with them... What would be wrong with having reasonable hints in the game? Same with the Cloudy Mirror - is there any way of getting what you have to do without consulting walkthroughs and game guides?

I never got them because it's too much work and you can complete the game easily without them. That system of bizarre unguessable puzzles seems to just be the way they do things in Japanese games. Honestly I really don't think it's worth doing at all. Just finish the game Smile

Another thing: the Airship passwords. Where can I find those? I've found some gibberish on a number of ruins, but it doesn't seem to add up to anything. Mad

How well do you know the Al Bhed language? That one is worth doing in my opinion.

I (that is, Tidus) know roughly 22, 23 of the letters - and I know what the cypher is for the others. Doesn't make a difference, though; the two plaques I've found are still gibberish and in no way the words I'd find in the game guides. Perhaps there's more to decyphering the inscriptions, but so far I've drawn a blank in that respect.
