Are you guys familiar with Zero Punctuation?. A friend recently introduced me to this. Funny, irreverent, sarcastic game reviews from a guys who speaks as if punctuation had never been invented. Amusing stuff. Check out his reviews for Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles and Psychonauts. NSFW
------ "Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don't learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us. Cynics always say no. But saying 'yes' begins things. Saying 'yes' is how things grow. Saying 'yes' leads to knowledge." ~Stephen Colbert |

He's pretty funny, and I love the little animated guys (even if he does rely a bit too much at times on Variations on the Theme of Shitcock for humorous effect).

I don't really have as much interest as I used to for games, but I get a little Lord of the Rings fix with "Lord of the Rings: The Third Age" for the Gameboy Advance. It's a pretty fun little strategy game that I picked up on the cheap.
I'm sure when I get sick of it, it will be on Ebay. ----------------------------- Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. Additional handling charges may be required. |

I'm a massive gamer. Gaming occupies far too much of my free time. It's probably not healthy.

Heh, he's not a fan of Nintendo is he? "The other night I dreamed that King George VI was dead, and that Helen Hardinge had somehow or other got herself proclaimed Queen of England, and that I was detailed to go and tell her that it wouldn't do at all; and when I did this, all she said was, 'You see, I am really Queen Mary,' and I said, 'Oh very well' - words to that effect, and woke up. Last night I dreamed that Eisenhower came to stay with us, and he insisted on being put to sleep in the dog kennel, with a collar and chain about his neck." - Sir Alan Lascelles, 19 February 1980 |

Who is getting Super Smash Brothers Brawl? Mario Kart?
I haven't decided which, if either, I'll get yet. I'll only get it if I have a group to play with. I decided to kill off all of my lingering unfinished games. So I stopped screwing around with the little galaxies and headed right to the center of the universe and beat Bowser. I copied the savegame in case I decide to go back and do a 100% run. Then I came back to Twilight Princess. The boss battle took 55 minutes! (Not the final dungeon, I mean just the four Ganon battles.) This was why I had put this game away for so long. Wind Waker was too short, but I feel like they overcompensated in this one. |

I was going to ask this as well. Is Smash much fun? How's the one player option? Also I have some of those plastic wheel attachments for the wiimote which I might finally use when Mario Kart comes out. (the first 16 bit mariokart is still my favourite.) (How do you copy your saved game in Galaxy? I've been thinking of going to the end, but still want to collect all the stars as well.) --------------------- Good Dreams don't come cheap, you have to pay for them. |

Brawl is apparently a lot of fun, though I have yet to play it.

Right where you pick which file to play. You select it and instead of choosing "Play" there are some other options, like "Copy" and "Erase" Everyone on teh intarwebs are freaking out about SSBB, but I never played any of the previous versions so I haven't really been that interested. But it seems that this is going to be the online multiplayer game for the Wii. I've loved Mario Kart since the N64 version, though and I look forward to this next one. |

Thanks for the info - I guess I never paid much attention to that stage in starting the game. I played the first Smash Bros - the 64 version and had great times with my friends on multiplayer. These days the friends I hang out with doesn't include anyone who'd be interested. Is the online function as simple as having your Wii hooked up to the internet? Given the speeds I get with my wireless connection I can't imagine playing real-time with anyone. --------------------- Good Dreams don't come cheap, you have to pay for them. |

We had the cast party for Beauty and the Beast last night...
They had three tvs set up...one with guitar hero (in the main room with the food and the strobe light) and two with Brawl (in a separate room). The owners of the game had been playing as much as possible to unlock all the characters for the party... It was pretty sweet, but I don't play videogames very often so I wasn't very good...I was just going to watch but they wanted a fourth. I just played as metaknight and kept pressing B over and over and tried not to fall off the edge of the stage... It's only for Wii, right? Now I want a Wii...I wasn't interested in video games until I started playing DDR and GH2 and now I want more systems besides my PS2... So my opinion of Brawl: It's fun, and I suck at it... --------------------------- Is an INTJ personality type! I'm sure I won't be any good at it either. I thought I was pretty good at Mario Kart DS until I went online and was thoroughly humbled.

Does the Wii have levels based on relative level of skill, or the ability to create "private" Web rooms? The "relative level of skill" thing would require some kind of ranking system, which could be kludgy, but private rooms for n00bs seems like a pretty easy and natural fix.

Looks like the same as Mario Kart DS. You can play friends on your friends list or play anyone, which sets you up with people at random.
There's no way to chat and no records will be kept. I think the randomness is supposed to even things out. There's not much incentive to be a jerk, but I don't think that will stop people. The DOJO This message has been edited. Last edited by: 男の子™, |

I'm rocking Suikoden V. Just got my fortress and am now running around doing all the awesomely cool recruitment/upgrade stuff Suikoden is great for. I love how they telegraph all the cool stuff that's going to happen later in the game. At the moment I have:
* a bunch of different vegetable seeds but no garden yet * some crazy cooking ingredients with no chef recruited * some baby fishies but no aquarium * a selection of rubber duckies but I can't work out how to use the various baths I see every where Minigames and sidequests ahoy! - Soul ______________________________ Written drunk, edited hung over - a brief synopsis of the story of my life. I kind of fell of the Suikoden wagon with number three. Playing three different protagonists was simultaneously annoying and exhausting, particularly since one's progression was strictly linear, the other less so and the third almost completely alinear.
