How are you liking it, though? (Insert any number of cake-related memes here.)

So I copied my game of Galaxy and then went for Bowser. He was remarkably easy.
With all the old downloads available on the Wii, I'm reminded that games these days are much, much easier than the ones from the mid-eighties. (Super Mario Bros, Kid Icarus, TMNT, etc)

Oh - I was surprised to find that after completing Galaxy they let you continue to collect the other stars to reach the total. Only 30 to go!

The game's hilarious! And I've only been alluded with promises of cake so far...

I'm hoping there's a work-around for that entire room on level 18; maybe I can find enough junk to drop on a door release button to avoid it altogether.

To be honest, I'd hate to have to play it with a gamepad - but that may just be a matter of practice.

If you thought it was hilarious so far, you've got a great finale to look forward to. Do make sure to watch the credits. Smile

So far, in The Room, I:

- snuck around and Portaled so all the guns destroyed themselves

- tried to Portal the angled door and jumped off the side. Portal doesn't seem to work.

- tried a few other falling/jumping Portals, only to end up in the chemical slop.

So I'm starting to think there's a work-around.

Yeah, redoing the old galaxies with a comet is much harder than the final boss. I never beat any of the side-scrolling SMB games.

I am commencing to suck at Tiger Woods 08, now. Just like in real life, I can't chip worth a damn. I'm a little frustrated that it won't let you putt from the fringe, which is what I do in real life.

I've heard the same complaint, The Boy. The perfect golf game would let me tee off on a par three using the putter, if I wanted to.

No need to leave the house.

There are some par 3s where I'd have a better score if I did that.

My grandfather taught me how to swing. Part of his technique, which was very unorthodox, was to go to the driving range with a putter.

My record was a 160 yard drive.

I'm going to see if I can find Syndicate Wars again. Man, that was an awesome game.

"The other night I dreamed that King George VI was dead, and that Helen Hardinge had somehow or other got herself proclaimed Queen of England, and that I was detailed to go and tell her that it wouldn't do at all; and when I did this, all she said was, 'You see, I am really Queen Mary,' and I said, 'Oh very well' - words to that effect, and woke up.

Last night I dreamed that Eisenhower came to stay with us, and he insisted on being put to sleep in the dog kennel, with a collar and chain about his neck."

Now that's a game. I downloaded the original, got stuck a few countries in. My solution is four agents armed with flamethrowers, works (nearly) every time. Not so good with persuasion though.

The way to have major fun with Syndicate Wars is Pooslice.

I haven't played, but I saw the final GlaDOS battle on YouTube. I don't think it is much of a spoiler to tell you that it is the funniest boss battle in video game history.

Anyone know of a good parkour game other than Prince of Persia?

I think I have a solution to the boss but it's going to be a pain to do, maybe even worse than the giant room I had to go through to get to the boss. Eek

Yes, that is probably the ideal platform for that game. Very high definition graphics.

It's funny, but in a weird way it's also poignant. There's something ironic in the fact that one of the best written computer game character ever is a homicidal (and female) AI.

As a matter of fact, two of the best written computer game characters are mad girl AIs. Hmm.

EA and DICE (the makers of the Battlefield series) are working on a game called Mirror's Edge. Might be worth checking out.

Portal should be a lesson to other game developers that writing is important and can make a good game great.
