My brother recommended that when I do decide to get a HDTV, the PS3 is the best Blu-Ray player out there. Even if you don't play the games.

He said PS3 has amazing graphics, but the games aren't there yet.

I'm Matt Cable and I approve this message.

Thanks guys. I may keep it, I was just wondering what the experiences were. Hey, a Blu-Ray player, I almost forgot about that.

Dweller, do you remember the games you were playing? I'm thinking I'm more of a casual gamer now, so I'd be renting rather than buying games if I keep it.

I really don't, unfortunately. I think it might've been Halo as I was running around shooting stuff.

Has anyone here played Bully? I'm playing it on-off on the PS2 and am enjoying it quite a lot. I miss the having fun driving around of the GTA titles, but apart from that it's a cool sandbox game.

I just got a PS3, mostly for it's Blu-ray and upscaling abilities.
Did pick up the Lego Indiana Jones game and the first Gundam one.

The images and resolution are amazing.

Thinking about getting Heavenly Sword and Ratchet and Clank.

Bought a couple of Blu-ray discs as well. Got the Bladerunner 5 disc set, and it's great.

We just unwrapped and started playing Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. It was my Father's Day present and, to be honest, I didn't know what to expect. I thought it would be entertaining, but that's about it. What I didn't know was that while bashing across the sandscape of Tatooine, Christy and I would end up laughing so hard at our repeated failure to keep out of quicksand and away from the edges of cliffs that my sides would actually hurt. I can't remember the last time I laughed this hard at anything, let alone a videogame, and it's been a very long time since a game that's kinda frustrating has been entertaining.

I should mention, Christy doesn't play many videogames and the ones she plays aren't usually ones that require you to press buttons in sequence or face the fatal consequences, but she's having a blast, too. Of course, she's enjoying Marvel Ultimates too. Well, she is now that we aren't playing in Arcade mode where I win every segment.

I just started Metal Gear Solid 4 for the PS3. The graphics, gameplay, and story are surreal as heck. There's a scary sense of future realism to some of the story in the game. I've never seen a game look this good. Now I've got to go sell some more stuff to justify owning this machine.

Kojima is brilliant.

For a heavily disguised dating game, I found it pretty fun.

In about an hour of playing Condemned 2, I die like three times. The CSI stuff is a fun twist.

I always feel so lame when I enter this thread, mainly because I'm always buying stuff I loved before and now it's so not cool anymore...

...so anyway, I got Arcannum again recently because I got a new PC. Fuck you all - I love it!

I'm just a little over an hour into Metal Gear Solid 4 and it's amazing how many different ways you can play this. You can do the FPS run and gun shooter, cautious FPS, 3rd person shooter, play it stealth, or any combination. Kojima really created this as an experience for a broader audience, except if you didn't play the previous games, you miss some of the back story.

There's some welcome faces from the past in this game and a lot of times it doesn't feel like I'm playing a game, but taking part in an action suspense movie.

I used to play Team Fortress 2 on 360 like crack, only truly remarkable FPS I've played online.

Arcanum is high on my list of games to replay, especially now that there's tons of fan patches that address the legion of bugs.

Last time I bought a game new, it was the latest Final Fantasy and even then I didn't start playing until almost half a year later - and I only bought it new because I had a 50% off coupon.
