I've bought Disgaea for the PS2, PSP, and I just pre-ordered it for the DS, http://www.rosenqueen.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=249. I fear that I'm never going to get around to playing the game.

Oh, that's a fun, fun game. Tactical RPGs are a weakness of mine, and that one has the cutest lil' demons.

Just watched about twenty minutes of gameplay.

I think we're going to need a bigger motherboard.

Just heard about Braid on NPR and it sounds like something right up my Ally alley.

Anyone played it yet on PC?

Oh, and heh.

“Chives?”
“Yes, m’lud?”
“Is that Ms Ephemera hovering over the croquet lawn?”
“Indeed m’lud. She’s marshalled all the haggle-dans. Missy-twigs and vale-nymphs from Claypole Woods. Apparently she intends to tear this house down and dance on the ruins.”

I'm currently addicted to Hearts of Iron II all over again. A WWII simulator where you can play absolutely any country between 1936 and 1953 and command economies, armies and diplomats.

Currently I'm playing Communist China in 1936, which is damn hard, as it's a mere speck in the middle of hostile Chinese factions.

I'm tempted for my next game to get Boardies involved in deciding my destiny Big Grin

"The other night I dreamed that King George VI was dead, and that Helen Hardinge had somehow or other got herself proclaimed Queen of England, and that I was detailed to go and tell her that it wouldn't do at all; and when I did this, all she said was, 'You see, I am really Queen Mary,' and I said, 'Oh very well' - words to that effect, and woke up.

Last night I dreamed that Eisenhower came to stay with us, and he insisted on being put to sleep in the dog kennel, with a collar and chain about his neck."

I still haven't completed Diablo II. I regularly berate my PS3 fanboy friends for not making amazonians and joining me online. Hopefully Diablo III will change that. Big Grin

I like that game. I played Poland and managed to ward off the Nazi attack by attacking them first, around 1938, with a few allies. I also played Mexico and conquered most of Central America, then got stuck between the US and Brazil/Argentina.

Yup, I've also downloaded that one. Quest for Glory 2 was one of my favourite Sierra titles.

Right now I'm playing through Sam & Max Season 2 - I've finished the first two games and am about to start "Night of the Raving Dead" - and Splinter Cell Double Agent. The latter is somewhere between "Wow, great levels!" and "Sheesh, the gameplay is so much more clunky than in Chaos Theory!"

Sorry, only saw this now. I believe Braid is only coming out on PC later this year. At the moment it's an XBox exclusive.

I usually like Zero Punctuation's reviews, but from what I've heard about Braid he's missing the point as far as the narrative is concerned. Apparently the narrative and the gameplay reflect on one another a lot.

Do you have the Throne of Destruction expansion? It makes things ridiculously fun, particularly for high-level druids. My old character charged around in half-bear form with three dire wolves, a minion, a choking creeper vine and five crows.

Haven't played the expansion yet, just got onto Act 3. How the hell are you supposed to catch those pigmy bastards? They're way too fast. Even worse than the sand-jumpy things in Act 2.

A minion with ranged weapons or summoned creatures. That's what worked for me. And, honestly, I never had to catch up with them - they always ran after me.

Has anyone here played Bionic Commando Rearmed? Great, though very hard old-school platforming fun.

I played the demo - it's difficult, but no more difficult than the original side scroller, which I beat in one life on a regular basis.

M'kay. We've finally caved and bought an XBox 360.

What, in your opinion, would be the best game to start out with?

(we bought Lost Odessey as our first 360 game cuz I thought it looked all Final Fantasy-licious, but TLOML's already pissed at it because he was forced to sit through 15 pages of written exposition screens to scroll through already, and he's only played for maybe 3 hours so far).

Played through The Force Unleashed on the PS3, (twice to see both endings).
Gameplay is meh, force is cool, story was great!
