Wakka's status attacks were too good for me to pass up. His Haste victory dance was . . . strange, too be sure. One thing that they fixed in FFXII is Haste. Your character moves fast - really fast, in the case of Vaan and Fran, but not jerkily.

Oh, and give Basch a ninja sword and turn him Berserk. Not only is he death in action, he's also really, really cool looking.

I loved the cartoon look. The only thing better than the cartoony Link-as-a-kid was the simulated woodcut prints. That was cool, too.

It would be inappropriate for Link as an adult, though. I can't wait to play it. Ocarina of Time is one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.

I've officially given up on Devil May Cry 3. It got to a point where I didn't even care about trying to avoid damage so... oh well for that. I'm thinking I'm either going to start playing Disgaea, FFXII, FFVI for the GBA, or I'll buy God of War 2 or Twilight Princess and then start playing one of those.

Just finished Final Fantasy X, having played it for something like 65 hours. I ended up getting the Celestial Weapons for Auron and Yuna. It's a pity I didn't get to break the damage limit for Tidus, but it worked out okay anyway.

I really liked the ending. I liked the bitter-sweet touch that went through the game, from beginning to end. And I think that I'll eventually get Final Fantasy XII as well. But first I've got lots of PC games to get back to (Bioshock is coming out soon - wahay!) and two Metal Gear Solids (Metal Gears Solid? Metals Gears Solids?) to play. And more work than I thought I would have, now that I'm no longer a uni employee. Being unemployed is hard work! Razz

Yeah, same here. At the end, it just felt like a real story, something that someone was telling rather than something someone wrote.

Just got back to playing FFXII. Currently in the far west sandsea trying to get to some old dead guys tomb (though I think it'd be safe to say a living guy wouldn't really need a tomb would he...)

Hmm. I think it's good that I'm no longer at the English Department; the atmosphere there had been bad for a while, and I had to leave sooner or later. It's also good that I'm not sitting around on my bum doing nothing, for psychological as much as for financial reasons. (I'm currently doing translations and proofreading work for one of the big museums here, so the work is interesting and stimulating, and it'll mean more money than just the regular unemployment benefits.)

However, I'm definitely coming to a point where I can't just think, "That game/DVD/book sounds cool, let's order it!" In other words, I've got to get used to living in the real world. Razz

Which is also why I'm not ordering FF12 immediately. Let's wait 'till it comes down in price.

I've been DROOLING over game trailers lately.
I spent about ten minutes in a local video game store here just watching the FF7: Crisis Core trailer on loop. It's SO beautiful.
Also the new Metroid Prime 3 trailers are BOSS awesome. Especially this one!

Don't know about Bioshock, though it looks awesome.

On a side note, anybody else think they need to create a new Twisted Metal game? You know, just to be able to drive around and blow shit up in a different forum than the GTA games?

Guilty admission:

Had a ton of fun playing through the TMNT game for gamebube (based on the movie). Decided to get that version instead of the Wii one as I thought the controls would be better.
And it was $20.

Not a great game, lacks a multiplayer, but for some reason I really enjoyed it and also had 2 non-gamers content to watch me playing it for hours (which was quite unusual).

Has an odd Spider man feel to it with alot of the rooftop stuff and ledges and wall climbing.

I loved twisted metal. I’ve always wanted a .50 cal and rocket launchers on my car since watching James Bond when I was a toddler.

I can believe that. They called it the Halo Flu on Gamespot when people took sick days off after the midnight game release. Halo 3 is just awesome! I played it at the store. Even with my bum arm, I think the 360 controller is the most comfortable, the controls are intuitive and Halo 3 is just awesome!(I know I said it twice). It makes me want to own an Xbox 360 but not until at least after class finals.

I'm currently playing Metal Gear Sold 2 on the PS2, and GTA: San Andreas (second time) and Neverwinter Nights 2 on the PC. So far I'm pretty indifferent about NWN2 - it's written well enough, but it still feels like generic D&D.

I bought one of those new PSPs for Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions and for Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness but I've since become obsessed with Me and My Katamari.

Metal Gear Solid 2's number one achievement so far: making me think that the Final Fantasy X writing, plot and cinematics are subtle and coherent.

It'd be fun to get the MGS characters together on the Jerry Springer show, though... Razz
