So a few years back, someone, (It think it was Matrix), posted a link to a group that was redoing some of the classic Sierra games in VGA format.

Well, after years of work, their work on the classic Quest for Glory 2 is now in Beta testing. (Trailer on youtube). Their Kings Quest remakes were well worth the time, and just thought I'd let everyone know if either they wanted to do beta testing or were keeping an eye out for a good game to have. (The original was excellent... I still have the floppies and did a play through recently that was still fun, so I'd highly recommend it).

Oh! That must be X-men Children of the Atom...I think.

Sega Emulator? Do you know if "Panzer Dragoon Saga" is available on emulator? It's a 4 disc action RPG. One of the best games I've ever played.

If Sega really wanted to turn on the cash machine, they would just port "Panzer Dragoon Saga" to another system. Too many people missed that gem.

I can finally really join this thread!!! Smile

We got a Wii last week. I've played some games on the PC but other than the Harry Potter games, I never got that far and felt bad for spending too much time gaming.

But now that we have a Wii, we have great evenings. So far we only have Raving Rabbids 2 apart from Wii Sports. We'll also be getting Wario Smooth moves soon as well as Wii Play. Ok, they aren't serious gamer games, but we like the intractability of these games, and we get to move more than with a regular console. I'll be back when I'm feeling better and read through some recent posts.

Those are the best games for the Wii, though, When_lingers. The ones you can play with big groups of people. I don't think the Wii was really meant for serious, hard-core gamers.

I'm looking forward to Wii Fit. Amongst other things.

We are looking forward to Wii Fit as well.

Yeah, that's why we got the Wii instead of something else. We wanted something to have fun together with. The most serious we'll be getting is Mario Galaxy, or something like that. I'm just so happy to actually have a console. Its my first!

We have Mario Galaxy. I haven't played yet, but The Boy likes it. We both enjoy Guitar Hero, but can't play two players. We only have one guitar. And right now, Nintendo isn't selling the guitar by itself without the game.

I'm sure we'll get Guitar Hero at some point. It would be great to have Rock Band and Sing Star for the Wii. We're a pretty musical household, and it would be fun to play all those things on the Wii

There's a fairly useful but incomplete player's guide with the game.

If you want to discuss the mechanics feel free to pm me. I haven't actually gone over the source code to find the exact formulas, but I've checked the wiki and the forums for some general information and have picked up a few things on my own.

I would like to advise any SimCity fans to steer clear of SimCity Societies (Holy alliteration, Batman!). Due to its rushed release schedule, the game is seriously broken. There's a multitude of crashes, errors, and freezes that people have been experiencing with it. Two patches and none of these problems seem to be fixed. Very frustrating.

I just started Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2 on the weekend and am loving it. The graphics are a little weak but the mythology is tight. The gameplay (the now classic Japanese turn based combat roleplayer) is adequate and familiar.

I am beginning to wonder however, if I'll ever finish a game again.

SUPER METROID!!!!

"The other night I dreamed that King George VI was dead, and that Helen Hardinge had somehow or other got herself proclaimed Queen of England, and that I was detailed to go and tell her that it wouldn't do at all; and when I did this, all she said was, 'You see, I am really Queen Mary,' and I said, 'Oh very well' - words to that effect, and woke up.

Last night I dreamed that Eisenhower came to stay with us, and he insisted on being put to sleep in the dog kennel, with a collar and chain about his neck."

Next Wii points card I get...

I never finished the original Metroid. Played for hours on end and never finished. It was HARD. Starting with empty energy tanks sucks.

Actually, I haven't finished Metroid Prime 1 or 2 either. I'm stuck in both at a hard part.

I have Metroid 1, and yeah, it is too hard, I've not gotten far in it at all. Same with the first two Zelda games.

I finished Prime 1, but Prime 2 I never get very far in. The whole parallal Universe thing was too confusing.

I can't wait to try Pikmin on the Wii. I was fascinated by this game when it came out, but never got to play it. But since gamecube games work on the Wii, I'm hoping to find a cheap used copy out there.

And then I want to try Zelda as well.

We got Wario Smooth Moves today. I had so much fun playing this. Sure, it's utter crap fluff, but it's great to play.

I picked up "Mario and Sonic at Beijing Olympic!" for DS last week. It's actually pretty good. Brought back memories of the old Konami Track & Field game for NES -- but you can't use a pen on the A B buttons for insanely high speeds like you could on the NES controller.

And seeing the splash screen say "Developed by SEGA...in cooperation with Nintendo"...who'da thunk it?

I had the Advantage joystick for the NES and Konami Track and Field. It was really easy to just put Turbo on and then hold down the A and B buttons for ludicrous speed.

How did the pen work?

My favourite trick was to use the running pad thing - and instead of runnning on it you got down on your knees beside it and pounded it with your fists. Made long jump a treat.

I picked up WiiPlay today with a second WiiMote. We finally got to play tennis against each other. And the WiiPlay games are fun. I also found Harry Potter for the Wii for half off, and picked that up too. I'm a sucker for Harry Potter games.
