It should be Ok, it's a set amount for each half of the year, rather than a discount. Pro rata, I get 200 pounds of clothes from the shop for each half year, and it specifically for clothes your wear in the shop (no miniskirts, etc.). Funny thing is, I only start next week and the cut off date for this half year is apparently August first (it doesn't carry over).

Congrats to your new job!

And the way they solve the problem with the clothing allowance is really good. A friend of mine worked in a bookshop during her studies & she used to say her boss could just give her the salary in books...

You are a Farrier. You enjoy nothing more than seeing a well-fitted hoof. Just because it's an animal doesn't mean it can't have a touch of style. Try this pump; here's a stilletto; my, did you see the calves on that pony? Size 6? Oh, madame, really! Still, there are so many hooves, and so little time, and you often miss out on the fun (and the better meme results.)

The Leonard Cheshire Trust.

I have a distant family relationship to Leonard Cheshire, who, among other things commanded the Dambusters squadron during WWII. After the war he did all this charity stuff, and they are a good little charity. i'm not totally sure what it is, but it's via his wife, Sue Ryder, who also ran charity shops before they were trendy... she's something like a creat aunt removed, or something.

once i have the entry confirmed, i'll have a fundraising website.

Are you training? Running is hard...

I always threaten to get back in running shape but I lose momentum after about a week...

a mate from uni who i haven't seen for 7 years just got in touch via facebook (the joys of having a unique name) and in his 'how we know each other' section put
quote:
the ultimate fuzzy wuzzy cosy friend who would make you a cup of tea and talk it out sensibly while the foundations of the earth teeter on the brink. Top man.

which is so cute to read after 7 years without any touch...

It's so good to be back in touch with these people.

Just got my annual appraisal. We are rated on five categories:

Work Objective: Exceeds standards
Collaboration and Teamwork: Exceeds standards
Communications: Exceeds standards
Audit Planning and Data Gathering: Significantly exceeds standards
Data Analysis: Significantly exceeds standards

The one they failed to rank me on:

Ability to Make It Appear That He Is Actually Working: godlike.

Great job ICx2!

I just turned in the first draft of a $750 freelance writing project for a guy in the Netherlands - he loves it!

Now he says he had about 5 other similar projects lined up for me.
