If someone starts texting while I'm out with them, I say "oh, you must be busy, I'll catch you later" and get up to leave.

Works every time.

I act like a total dick when someone uses poor phone etiquette (heh, "act"). If you're at the movies and get Pearl Harbored by a 64-oz cheery slushie while checking your voice mail, I may be in the theatre.

I actually really like my razr. Possibly because the phone I had before it was such a piece of shit that I was just delighted to be back with a clamshell design, even if the back of the dumb thing does keep falling off. Motorollas always seem to have one thing that pisses me off about the phone - with my old pebble (or pbbl or whatever they called it) if it ran out of charge, you had to take out the battery and put it back in repeatedly before it would turn on again.

Still, my last phone was so terrible, I'll never get another Samsung. Horrible design, flimsy, broke for no clear reason, the music player was unuseable... so glad I don't have it anymore.

If I can't master a piece of technololgy, I end up hating it. For example: the original Nintendo Entertainment System. The controllers were so small that I constantly cramped my hands when playing (this was before the joystick controller), so I never bought one. Now the first Xbox with it's 5-pound potato controller, I loved that sucker.

Furious, does it help if I admit I still use an ancient Nokia?

(Looks like the one on the right in this photo.)

I bought it from TMobile years ago; can't remember exactly what year. The screen images are just grayscale, not color, and very blocky. I only recently (Halloween 2007!) figured out how to text on it, something I still rarely do. You can't take pictures with it or check email on it or send images with texts or whatever it is these kids do nowadays.

Escher only just recently upgraded, from a phone nearly as old as mine to an iPhone. Already it annoys me. He looks at it all the time, it feels like.

I haven't felt the need to upgrade, really, even as tempting (sometimes) as the new gadgets are. I know that if I do I will wonder how I ever survived without them, but oh well. I figure the folks who upgrade to a new phone every 5 minutes make more than enough trash for the rest of us.

The one I had prior to that one - I can't remember anymore what it was - I bought a faceplate for, too: red with a green dragon!

for site workphones, long lasting drop proof etc you really can't go past a nokia!

I brought mine with me but there are no SIM card networks withing range of the city we live in now *sigh*

there is only on network and they charge an arm and a leg for every basic function.

Like nicole I have found that north american cell phone companies suck compared to europe or australasia

Why do ya'll put up with it?

I've never been charged for recieving a call before thats uber lame! Also having to pay for them to unlock the phone to recieve caller id or txts uber lame!!

They are all about to hit the wall too CDMA is going to be replaced in the next 5 years, hopefully they all straighten up their act then!!

They really don't have any reason to. Americans never leave their borders so most of them don't know how bad they have it. (This is true of mobile phones as well as a lot of other things). Why would phone service improve as long as they can get away with it?

I'm on Verizon, which I know sucks, but I can make calls in the mountains of New Hampshire, which isn't possible with anyone else. It just sucks that all of the advanced features on this phone are disabled and replaced with VZW bullshit like expensive video-on-demand and $3 ringtones.

I've just gotten used to the fact that my phone isn't to be used for any purpose other than making voice calls.

It's a Motorola like my last one. Both have been practically bulletproof.

I just go for the cheapest phone in the shop usually.

I have this Sagem

It was £9.99 about a year ago, I don't use all the features, but it seems to be indestructable. The only drawback is even its most tolerable ring tone is still fairly obnoxious.

I was on Virgin, but I changed to 02 as it was cheaper.

Before that I had a Lobster, which was horrible and far too small.

Hahah, well I'd hope you would really do that. One of my friends felt the need to text during 'Up!' and I wanted to just reach across the aisle and smack. Mad

Maybe a Shinto priest can bless the bad mojo from your phones? Smile Article Link

I just have a cheap AT&T Go Phone. I don't use it much and it is easy to maintain. I have two phones now because I thought I lost my Samsung clam shell phone for good, but it resurfaced after I bought my Pantech Slate. The Slate is great for doing the occasional text message. I stink at doing them on a numeric keyboard.

Even though my number is registered on the government Do Not Call registry I still get repeated calls from two numbers that I assume are telemarketers. I don't know for sure because it would cost me 25 cents a minute to answer the call. Mad

I would like to have a cool smart phone but there is no way I can justify the fees on my budget.

i have the next one on from that nokia, i think. it's beginning to look totally battered, but that's ok!

i HATE people who use phones in the theatre/cinema. my mum's boyfriend is a pretty bad culprit, and i always want to smack him when he gets his phone out. i don't care HOW "necessary" it is, he can fricking turn it off and leave it alone like everyone else, or bugger off out of the cinema.

Unless you're a doctor on-call for the President, it's never necessary.

Seriously thinking of building a jammer (for educational purposes only Razz) to make the annoying little people go away when they want to irradiate their brains.

Yes I'm cranky right now. Need coffee. Or Pepsi max. or both.

I think active jammers are against FCC regulations.

Faraday cages, however...

Furious, try to calm yourself by sitting in your Pez Dom maybe you'll get calmer, if that's any ... possible.

I had many phones, my fave was Motorola and Sagem (reliable, long time living battery, easy to use).

Now i have a Samsung U600 Lolita Lempicka, I wanted it and now hope he dies soon so i can have a new phone and a good one. And this time i won't do the fashion mistake again.

I wonder though ... how long a LG phone is holding on with its battery charged ?

That probably depends on what doohickeys you have constantly running on the phone, like if you have Bluetooth on or not.

AND :P :P :P TO YOU FOR DISSING MY PEZ!

(see that i was so angry i couldn't even take my finger off the shift key to make the Razz smiley)

Got my Jitterbug phone today... although I chose the graphite/black color scheme it reminds me of the candy-colored iBooks Apple made back in the day. If a get an incoming call I may actually pick up now!... maybe. Still don't want to talk to you dweebs. Razz
