LOL

The first picture was a little cool when I took it, but the second two were both on really nice days. They're all from last summer.

There was a single blue line of crayon drawn across every wall in the house.
"What does it mean?" I asked.
"A pirate needs the site of the sea," he said, and then he pulled his eye patch down and turned and sailed away.

I think Murph should just stay up and entertain us.

Or maybe he could entertain us while he sleeps? I find the things people do while they're sleeping to be very entertaining.

thanks! I feel really lucky to be able to live there. I'd love to take a trip up there during WEVA (it's only 2.5 hours from Tacoma), but i'm not sure what the official plans are.

Lester, you do some fine shooting.

Amy, that picture-especially the sepia tone- is just beautiful of her.

I didn't even fiddle with the color when I scanned it in. It just came out like that.

I've got that photo blown-up on my nightstand. I still miss Miss Barta.

I'm not, and I'm not surprised to find out it's a Polaroid, either. That emulsion was always happy and ready to produce slightly kooky reactions to light. The Phoebe Buffay-Hannigan of color photography vehicles.

And it's a well-composed picture, too.

WOW. amazing pictures.

(Fion, I thought it was a moose at first. DON'T ASK ME WHY)

it was years since I took pictures that I actually really liked (somehow the new digital cameras we have just don't connect with me), til I finally visited Jamestown, VA and took pictures on...SHIPS. of course. These are favourites, I wish there were more of my own that I actually liked.

These have been posted elsewhere, I know, since they were WEVA pics, but I will put them here because there are the closest to artistically good pictures that I have taken. Both are from the hike up to the castle in Wales.

Something about the light coming through the trees, the fact that I managed to hit it dead center, and the diffraction lines coming off of it make me really like this one:

And this one... I don't know. I really liked that the tree seemed to be perfectly framed by the other greenery when viewed from the path:

Some stuff from our campin' trip last summer (TLOML took most of these):

What could be the cover of Backpacker Magazine (or at least an Osprey ad):

If you look closely, you'll see there are chairs stacked from floor to ceiling:

I nearly forgot about this one.

This was from a fountain at the public library in Chicago.

That's really a transit card in there, but from the back it looks like a credit card, and I love the idea of someone wanting their wish to come true so badly that they'd throw a credit card into a wishing well instead of just a few pennies.
