Ah- now that you mention it, I did know you were from NZ. I recall talking to you late at night (for me), when you and I were some of the only posters awake. I didn't know you'd left, though. What were/are you doing in London/Canada?

I studied in Sydney for six months, and while I was there I travelled to Cairns, the reef, Townsville, Magnetic Island, and the Blue Mountains. On my way home, I visited the north island of NZ and Fiji.

NZ was without a doubt the most beautiful place I have ever been to. I could have stayed there forever, if the government would have let me...

yeah if you are canadian you can get a working holiday visa for 1 or 2 years, but USA screwed us over on trade so only highly skilled migrant visa's I'm afraid.

I'm not sure when I will be back home to live, its just a pity interest rates are so high and the nz dollar so crap.

How long of an exposure was that? Not that I'll actually have a clue when you rattle off camera jargon, but damn that's an excellent picture.

Is that Cassiopia? Whoever it is, it's beautiful, Newro.

Yes, indeed. The constelation I wanted to catch is Cassiopia. (To see in the centre, slightly left.)

Newromancer, the picture of the stars gives me the same gut reaction I had in the movie. Now don't guffaw! It was the scene when the camera took us from the planets surface out to the purest reaches of space where even our earliest radio broadcasts have not reached. Space not sullied by our existence. I couldn't breath in that scene and all other sound seemed to stop.
Yes, I am guilty of really getting wrapped up in the simplest of scenes that just amaze me.

But as my younger son said of me awhile back, "Mom, you look at every thing like it's the first time you've seen it!" I take joy in the beauty of simple things. Baby lizards scampering across my path walking home brightens my day.

Beautiful photography! Loved the two wine glasses!
