not particularly. Stardust isn't anywhere close to my favorite of Neil's work. I'm more concerned with getting tickets to one of the signings.

I'm trying to get my little sister to be my autograph monkey this year...
Has anyone checked out all the CBLDF stuff this year? The auction is looking pretty nice. The (once again, I'll have a red messenger bag if anyone wants to say hi) Scott |

Yeah, they're doing drawings for places in line and first come, first served at the Paramount booth for movies (at least for Beowulf clips and Stardust) ****************************************** Me in Rock: This Shirt Is Pants | Mr. Fusion Me in blog: izenmania |

Snazz and Jena, how did you like preview night? I went from booth to booth with no real plan, trying to figure things out for the next few days but not really listening to any of the information that I was given.

Yeah, that sounds about right. We bought some stuff (mostly Jena bought some stuff), but mostly we just went to booths that interested us, roamed, and also took one look at the Hasbro toy line and went "umm... no." (sorry Silv and LadyJ... ebay?)
Jena an' I are about to head out to the Comics in Education thingiemadoo. ****************************************** Me in Rock: This Shirt Is Pants | Mr. Fusion Me in blog: izenmania |

I only went to the Paramount panel today. I was a little sad that I didn't get to go to Max Brooks and George Romero but I needed to walk the show floor and dig through the 50% booths. I was happy that I was able to get Neil's signature though.

We were there too! (Along with, what, 6,000+ other people?) And we'll be at Neil's panel today. We'll look for you there! (I'm wearing a black "Geek IS Sexy" and have blonde hair, if that helps any!)

I'll probly be in a bright green Fancy Froglin shirt (y'know... little pants to hide his genitals guy). I have lots of hair. Coming out of all parts of my head. And I'm taller than her *points at Jen*
Not that I'll be the tallest one of us *eyeballs Matrix* ****************************************** Me in Rock: This Shirt Is Pants | Mr. Fusion Me in blog: izenmania |

Ah! Missed you both! Did you come in during the Spider-Man panel to get better seats also? What did you think? Did you go for the t-shirt at the end? Did you buy a t-shirt afterwards? Gah!

I agree about the hearing him talk thing. The man is just flat out entertaining. I went to the Joss Whedon talk today and just kept thinking that it wasn't nearly as impressive.
I didn't get go to the cbldf auction. I was in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer thing at the time. The (Silver and Lady Jasmine, feel free to pm me) Scott |

I'm giving San Diego Comic Con 2007 a solid nine. It's probably the best experience I've had going to a convention thus far. How did everyone else that went like it?

so why was it a nine? what made it the best convention so far? (i'm really, *really* gonna have to get my ass in gear and go next near. really.) ____________________________ Have pity for the minimalists... "She's too clever by half," said Dr Fruitbowl. Don't have time for a proper big ramble here, but Saturday and Sunday ended up being pretty fun. Didn't do much at con on Saturday... we were a little burned out on the crowds, so we ended up just racking up a rather lengthy receipt of liquor at the Hard Rock with Walker before heading toward the CBLDF auction. I bought some stuffs. Sunday morning Jena and Ray left, so I had a few hours to kill. Ended up buying Bone from Jeff Smith (turns out it's really frickin' good) and running into my high school chum Rick (whom I'd seen in passing when we were in the Paramount line) and roamed with him for a bit.

I didn't go to Comic Con on Saturday, really (I don't count the auction after hours), and as snazz said we left Sunday. The crowds were horrid, but I had a very good time Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I can't say it was my best Con experience, but that has so much to do with extenuating circumstances that it's not even really fair to include them when judging the con. They absolutely need to cut back on the number of badges they sell per day, though. Stoopid wannabees showing up cause geeky is now "cool"...

Jena, you make me laugh. She said that "the normals were ruining her con" on Saturday. I don't know. I like crowds. I hate lines but when you've got people to joke around with and revel in your geekiness with, it's not so bad.
Let's see... con report... Wednesday: joined CBLDF; Thursday gained a new, easy going perspective about con, gave blood, got into Neil Gaiman signing, got into Paramount panel; Friday: Neil Gaiman panel; Saturday: didn't get into the Heroes panel, didn't get into the Avatar panel, got into the last half of the Futurama panel and all of the Joss Whedon panel, got Joss Whedon's signature, got the Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley's signatures for a friend watched my brother get dominated by someone at EVO, saw Virgil (the Million Dollar Man's old valet), saw Hard n' Phirm live at the comic book club panel, and went to a Once More With Feeling thing that sort of bummed me out; Sunday: a little light shopping. Crap! I almost forgot, we had a bike cab race on, I think, Thursday, which was incredibly fun. This con was a lot different from the ones in the past two years. We had twice as many people as we normally did and it was hard to coordinate everyone properly. The (Neil Gaiman was the highlight of my con experience, really) Scott |
