cheap and filling - depends what you regard as cheap, and how much you want to be bloated afterwards.

Limertilly: A pagan deity forgotten by man and therefore banished to the realms of memory and darkness now remembered by a young girl in downtown L.A. in the form of a dream and therefore freed to reap your revenge on the people who discarded you, thereby forcing said girl to learn to use her innate yet awesome powers as a soothsayer to gather forces of the Earth to defy you and once more banish you to your cold, cold prisoooooon

Does anyone remember when we had those threads about recording our voices and blogging them and someone (Beezee? Circus?) posted some text that we should read out that had certain words that would highlight our accent differences (I remember Bob was one of the words)...

What was the text? Where was the post? Urrrg!

Thank you thank you!!!

For those who need to know, it was:

Please call Stella. Ask her to bring these things with her from the store: Six spoons of fresh snow peas, five thick slabs of blue cheese, and maybe a snack for her brother Bob. We also need a small plastic snake and a big toy frog for the kids. She can scoop these things into three red bags, and we will go meet her Wednesday at the train station.

Does the thread, or the place we had to call, still exist?

I think both the threads are archived and the phone numbers we set up became out of date (I believe, well, I could find the 'Voices Inside your head' and the 'Voices Outside your head - what we all sound like' threads)

Aw, I hope it didn't get lost to The Purge Frown

Does anyone know if the Beauty Parlour thread is still around? I've been looking for that one.

okay, I think the thread was 'your accent' and it's showing up in a google search, but then the link goes nowhere. so it might well be in the archive, I don't know how it works

You know that kind of couples dancing, where it's more formal than a clinch-and-smooch, and it's not a smoochy song, but it is basically just people holding each other like they were waltzing but actually just shuffling from one foot to the other, revolving slowly around the room. Like people-at-a-wedding dancing. What would you call that?

Hrm. I don't think there's a term that specifically allows for the unschooled lack of technical expertise you describe. I would therefore simply call that "ballroom dancing".

Wouldn't call it "slow dancing", because that implies semi-erotic grappling; at least it does hereabouts.

Poor Maeve. Hope it stops hurting soon.

Why did nobody answer when I ask if anyone likes U2?

I don't like them by the way, and am feeling guilty about going on the Jonathan Ross show when they are on, when there are probably huge fans who would love to see them. (But I am very happy that I am going because I can see Richard Attenborough!)

Oh, I think Richard Attenborough trumps U2 any day! Have a blast.

(I quite enjoy U2 stuff, when I hear it, and have some CDs, somewhere, but I wouldn't probably put it on by choice. I, too, once saw U2 live by accident, but it was so goddamn long ago that they were a support act!)
