I'm for the first option, so long as we can regain control of the army when necessary.

"As for our common defense, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals. Our Founding Fathers, faced with perils we can scarcely imagine, drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man, a charter expanded by the blood of generations. Those ideals still light the world, and we will not give them up for expedience's sake."

I was thinking of those 'Murricans. (My previous, wonderful, boss was a very, very senior RAF officer, I spent my early career in close proximity to a gazillion British squaddies, and indeed did my dissertation on British military training - and yet the only uniform that came to my mind was the one worn by General Jack O'Neill. Get thee behind me, fandom!)

In good time sir, once we have improved our general carrier designs we'll build a few, and we'll definitely build some CAGs then Smile

I have given Egypt its internal autonomy:

America's very sour with our Imperial Preference decision, but at any point we can renege on it - but this will rile the Commonwealth and anger our voting public.

Liz,

The interceptor Wing has been completed. Where should we deploy it?

In addition I have ordered two wings of Strategic Bombers (model: Handley Paige Halifax) to be constructed.

It's more that I'm worried that we might have a few carriers of no use in case of an emergency because they ain't got planes. I would actually reshuffle the whole fleet if my understanding is right and put emphasis on battleships.

Crisis in Palestine

Jewish immigration to the Holy Land has grown since the Great War, and the rise of anti-semitism in Europe has been a major factor.

At the end of the War the British government pledged to support Jewish migration to the Holy Land as a pretext to a Jewish state sometime in the future.

We have a problem here. We could stop Jewish migration, which is causing unrest among the Arab natives, but that will displease the public at home; on the other hand, we could have a full-scale riot on our hands if we remain firm.

What should we do?

continue to support Jewish migration, and if the Palestinians riot, well, we have a few units nearby that could use some combat experience. I don't expect the Arab natives to be much of a challenge in any case.

I am in favour of suppressing the revolt with force; we have plenty of troops in the area - heck, even the understrength 7th and 8th Infantry Divisions currently in Palestine should be capable of policing the area.
