An update on the Spanish Civil War:
Looks like the Republican cause is collapsing rapidly. A radar station is complete. Radars improve interceptor performance and allow us to see other countries' planes farther away from our lines. I propose that this one be installed in the UK, in Kent. --------- |

July 24:
The 'civil war' has turned out to be little more than a long-drawn out coup d'etat. The Republicans have been defeated; riddled with internal divisions and Russian spies, they were unable to present a fully united front against the coherent Nationalists. (in real life, the war continued savagely until 1939) The new Nationalist government is busily repairing the damage Spain has endured. We should do our best to ensure they don't get any ideas about any Mediterranean ambitions... --------- |

About an hour afterwards, when it was quite dark, the sentry pointed his arms and challenged a person advancing with, "Who comes there?"—"Naval officer, drunk on a wheelbarrow," was the reply, in a loud singing voice. Upon which, the sentry recovered his arms, singing in return, "Pass naval officer, drunk on a wheelbarrow—and all's well!" and then appeared a soldier in his fatigue dress, wheeling down the third lieutenant in a wheelbarrow, so tipsy that he could not stand or speak. Then the sentry challenged again, and the answer was, "Another naval officer, drunk on a wheelbarrow;" upon which the sentry replied as before, "Pass, another naval officer, drunk on a wheelbarrow —and all's well."

I am very tempted to relaunch this game.
Instead of going from 1936 I could do it from 1939 for a much more interesting and combat-focused game. Also we could try countries other than Britain if people want to (though I like being Britain). Also I'd speed it up for you all by simplifying your command of research, diplomacy and espionage. Any thoughts? --------- |

I'm easy (as you know), but I'd like to contribute - I enjoyed it before.
Though if you are going to try a seperate country, I would vote for Japan. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Murphy, --------------- *is not impressed* |
