I prefer to live in a country that's small, and old, and where no one would ever have the NERVE to wear a cape in public, whether they could leap tall buildings in a single bound or not.

when's spring due?.

Thanks Smile I'm leaving in about 90 minutes, leaving work early to collect myself and get ready. Once I have this first one out of the way, I think I'll feel much better. This is so irrational it makes me chuckle, then my stomach turns again Razz

No, no, this is the internet. You say "glhf" and then after you've trounced some n00b, you add insult to injury by typing "gg."

Way too much punctuation, I'm afraid.

Congrats on making it through, JP. How did it go?

Pretty well. After introductions I sort of froze, and my assistant coach (who was M's t-ball coach, and has an older daughter who's played soccer and t-ball/softball) stepped into the vacuum to get things started. We've got different coaching styles, so he's more about "drills" and I'm (trying to be) more about skills through fun games, so we did a few drills for a while, then after our water break I stepped back in with a couple of games I'd planned to play. He and I work well together, so the drills were pretty seamless and we were on the same page the whole time, so it worked out just fine.

Nope, those were hot pink lacy pigtail ties Smile That one's a spitfire. Most of them are, really. *thinks* At least 5 of the 10 didn't hesitate to chime in their opinions throughout practice Smile

Oh, and you'll notice that there are only 7 girls in that picture. The other three? Off playing in the infield dirt (we were practicing on a t-ball field). And out of the 10, only 2 have the same color/style of ball, so that's helpful, they all know which is theirs (and are VERY protective of it) Smile

Big Grin

I remember that from Son+'s tball days. You'd look out into the infield and one would be sitting down doodling in the dust while in the outfield two would be looking at a cool bug.

Sounds like Graeme's practices from last year in the 5 year old group, JP. It is a lot of fun, though, and good to hear you have a good assistant coach to work with. Complementary styles, not competitive.

Yeah, he and I are very go with the flow, and since he has an older daughter who's done t-ball/softball and soccer he knows what to expect. For both of us it's all about the fun, but understanding it's more fun when you 'win' (in quotes because we don't keep score, so maybe I should just say it's more fun when you do well) so we want them to get as much out of it and have both the highs and lows of playing. We did well with t-ball in the spring, so we'll see how soccer goes this fall.

Yeah, I knew it was a completely irrational fear, but that's the thing about irrational fears, even when you know it, it doesn't help Smile I can't tell you how much this kept me up the other night and it was all I thought about yesterday *shakes head* Well, first one's down, and I'm looking forward to the rest Smile
