I won't join y'all, but I just tried it out of curiosity (after working 8:30-7:30) and got to 32 consecutively, then 26 after about 1 minute rest.

The missus and I just started walking in the morning, with our bokken (hmm -- similar tastes much :P), around the neighborhood and around the res' -- there are two bridges that provide a good excuse for doing 'down-ups' (squats) - the larger bridge takes me 25 to get across, the smaller 19 (if I remember correctly).

Of course, now we're in Maine, and while she brought her sword, I did not.

I have been tempted to borrow t.o.o.b's dumbbells, since that's the only kind of weight-training I've ever done (some 22 years ago), but push-ups have also intrigued me -- my guess for success on test #1 will be 3 or 4.

As this is July 4th eve, and I just finished a 6-hour drive and a beer, I think I'll hold off on the test 'til tomorrow. But I'll join!

way back when I was in highschool, one of the guys on my water polo team through something out of the bus window so we all got punished for it. He skipped the day of the punishment and then quit the team grrrr, but the day we got punished we had to do 1000 push ups. Yep. 1000.

We did them in sets of 50, and then we had to swim 50 meters in butterfly stroke with out kicking-for a rest between sets of 50. It literally took us all day. The longest, worse, most painful "practice" I've ever been in.

I'm going to do a trial of the first session tomorrow morning, and then again on Monday, and continue the programme from there.

I have very little space in my room for it...

Second round. 12/12/10/10/10. The last two sets, the last pushup was bloody hard. I'm so going to feel this tomorrow...

I've actually got it in my noggin to try do do pushups right around the time this thread went up. Must be some collective consciousness thing going on.

I do it with my feet crossed-one foot resting atop the other-it looks like it's harder to do, but it actually feels easier.

20/20/10 or 20/15/10/5.

But 100? That's for guys...
