Okay, I hope that you're supposed to wait two days after the initial 'test' before day one - 'cause I did my test yesterday, and I couldn't get through the first day program.

Day .5 -- 7/3 ... Frown

I did the first day (preliminary 18, then 10/10/8/6/14).

....is it supposed to hurt for days afterwards?

Week 1, day 3: 15/13/10/10/15

No sore muscles after day 2, but again, I found the last pushup of the last set very difficult. Which is the way it's supposed to be, I guess... Smile

Surely you've heard the phrase "no pain, no gain."

I did a trial run on Saturday and did it successfully Smile

Planning on repeating it tomorrow, and starting the programme properly.

Ah, yes! Thank you. It's good. Keep warm.

and by young I mean fit.
and by fit I mean annoyingly fit.

now if we were talking bows, there was time when I could've totally kicked all y'all' asses.

granted, that time was twenty years ago, but still ... Wink

Day 2: 12/12/10/10/16. Grrrr!

The thoughts of other posters collapsing in exhausted anguish and duncan with a bow in his hair were all that sustained me through that.

Stretching a bit afterwards. should help with the pain, windmilling your arms backwards and so on.

Yay Unc Mork!

The stretching actually worked really well, my muscles hurt a lot less today. I had my suspicions that all that was sustaining Fatoigeon through this was the thought of other posters standing around doing crazy backwards-windmill arm motions, but how wrong I was. He would never make fun of us.

Fion, there should be a column to the left of the 40-55 one for <40's on the initial page. And you do not suck one bit, since you be tryin' it at all. Razz

I did mine.

I won't admit to how very few pushups I am able to do. My muscles are not developed in that way.

I did my initial test (I'm substituting sit-ups for push-ups, as my abs need a whole lot more work than my arms Smile) and I'll be starting the program on Wednesday.

One question about pushups...how far apart should your hands be?

Cos once I did them parallel with me shoulders and it was quite gruelling (as I imagine it should be) and another I moved them just slightly further apart, and it was a lot easier...but at the same time I know putting them too close isn't advisable.

Ah, yes! Thank you. It's good. Keep warm.

Do what's comfortable - you can fine tune, if necessary, down the road. This will be my 2nd attempt at Day 1 - wish me luck!

I so have no core ...
