Hello everybody!
we are three italian guys and we made a short video about Coraline, maybe some of you has already seen it, mr Gaiman put the link in his journal a pair of weeks ago. anyway, since a lot of people wrote us comments and we are very happy about it, we thought that putting a message on the board would be a good idea, so that more people can share their opinion with us!
here is the link:
http://www.bonsaininja.com/coraline/coraline.htm

let us know what do you think about it!

Ciao!

Dario, Gabriele e Federico

thanks! the animation part was made using pancil drawing, coloured with photoshop and animated with after effects, using the basic 3D that was more than enough for the "paper house" idea

Wow, just saw this. It's really beautiful--the three of you have really done an excellent job capturing the atmosphere and mood of the book!

"Who are YOU?' said the Caterpillar.
This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, "I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.

Hey Dario, Gabriele and Federico

wellcome on board!! I missed this thread your work is beautiful and deserve a lot of credits!! very nicely done.

I'm so very curious, where do you come from? I'm Italian too my name is Serena I live in Milan. There's other 2 posters who lives in Italy here (Alinda and Cleopatra_matta) and, although she's usian, circus speakes great italian too. so it's good to have some new compatriots around Wink

If you guys are Gaiman friends you can stay with us at the world's end it's a funny place and newbie gets cookies and baloons and all sorts of weird stuff, just introduce your-self!!

Ciao

some time ago i saw on tv (italiauno mayhap, or mediaset anyway)a presentation of short videos. i can't remember what the program was called, "ciak corti" or something similar maybe?
anyway, one of the videos presented was inspired on coraline: was that your video?

hello, i'm french, i'm only forteen but i love Neil Gaiman who isn't very famous in my country, this trailer is very beautiful, the technic using give a fabulous result! I just regret the mother's design, i imagined her more like Sally in the Nightmare before Christmas, but with long arms and round eyes buttons.

I sorry for mistakes, i don't speak english very well.

Wow.. great work! It really helped capture the atmosphere of the book. However, when I use Windows Media Player, the sound got choppy and I had to restart it.

What do you know of "marvelous?"

Simple animation. Good style.

It caught the mood of the book and you exclaim "MARVELOUS!"

Just wait for the feature length, superbly animated and beautifully designed movie.

Then you will have to look up a word that means something greater than marvelous.

What an interesting way to get people interested in reading! Book trailers are like movie trailers, but for books! You can find them all over the internet now, but here is a site that's featuring them on YouTube.

That's really good, it captured the feeling of the book perfectly!

I haven't really seen many book trailers, but that is chilling and effective.

Very nice indeed!
