On page thirteen, Coraline dresses up in "A red head scarf, blue coat, and yellow wellington boots."

Does anyone else think this might be a nod to Paddington Bear?

I think Paddington's more a nod to the standard uniform of small British children on damp days, at least from what I remember of my grandmother's descriptions of childhood. It is quite possible, though.

Yup. Your average kid in the UK will own at least one blue/navy duffle coat in their life.

Except me. I just wore the coat and wellies off my mum's giant Paddington Bear.

You are a Leprechaun. I'm not even sure what you are. Whiskey-soaked reports from your baffling Isle of Ire raise more questions than they answer. Are you a dwarf? Where's your pickax? If you're an elf, why don't you cobble? You'd think with all your gold, you could invest in some land, perhaps a title, and improve your station. Instead, you hide it in meteorologically-determined locations. You're getting killed on inflation, little friend!

It made me think of Paddington Bear, but Dweller in Darkness has a point as well. Smile

I have to admit, it did evoke images of Paddington Bear for me too. Then again, I also owned pretty much the exact same coloured rainy day clothing as a child so it could be the generic miserable day wear for some poor child going to school... I know it was for me :S lol

Padington's wellies are blue anyway...

*utterly random observation, cause I'm looking at the giant bear right now*
