Hello all! I just recently reviewed the forum in search of information about Coraline. I am to give a presentation and write a critical analysis of a novel for my Children's Literature class. I chose those particular book because I thoroughly enjoyed it, yet I am having trouble finding scholarly essays that I can use as research for my paper on Coraline. A google search presented me with a multitude of reviews, but nothing in the form of analysis. From reading this forum, I did find that a member posted a link to an interview with Gaiman regarding Coraline that I might be able to use (https://user.well.com/engaged/engaged.cgi?c=inkwell.vue&f=0&t=156&q=0-), but I was curious if any of you knowledgeable souls knew where I could find additional sources to include in my research. Thanks in advance!

Doing an internet search for literary analysis leads to dissapointement
What databases does your school library have access to? These will likely be the places where you'll find the most literary criticism. Ask your school librarian if you have Project Muse, JSTOR, any of the Gale literature databases.... they'll be able to let you know what's available to you. A book to take note of is Contemporary Literary Criticism, volume 195. If your school library doesn't have the hard copy, ask them if they have electronic access. Also, while the forum may have some information, the real part you'd want to search for straight-from-Neil's-mouth would be his blog. : http://www.neilgaiman.com/search_form _____________________________________________________________ Don't you realize? The next time you see sky, it'll be over another town. The next time you take a test, it'll be in some other school. Our parents, they want the best of stuff for us. But right now, they got to do what's right for them. Because it's their time. Their time! Up there! Down here, it's our time. It's our time down here. That's all over the second we ride up Troy's bucket. - Goonies |
