Sorry to start ANOTHER thread, but...
I recall that Laura (and, thus, Shadow too) has the surname Moon. First of all, is Laura supposed to be a goddess or demi-goddess of any sort? And what is the significance of the name Moon? Of course Zorya P. took the silver coin from the moon, but I can't make any clear-cut connection. Thoughts? --T.C. http://thecavebelow.blogspot.com |

If Shadow is Baldur, I think Lara was supposed to, in some way represent Hel. It fits in the sense that she's undead.

I've read elsewhere that someone thinks that Laura is Nanna. In Norse myth, Nanna is Baldr's wife - so far so good. However, they go on to say that Nanna is a moon goddess, trying to tie in the surname of Moon, and this is plainly ridiculous as myth clearly shows that ancient heathens did not have a moon goddess but they did have a moon god (Manni).
