OK, so... I've never joined one of these groups before, but when I found one desighned by/for Mr. Neil Gaiman himself, I couldn't pass. I'm not sure quite how to propose this topic without spoiling it for myself, but after reading American Gods last year, I was hit with a passion unlike any other. I live in a tiny little mountain Town in Colorado, where many different spiritual organizations and sects have come to claim some of what many believe to be sacred land. While there are countless Budist and Hindi temples and retreats, I look at how few of the actual locals go to any of these places. They are rich elaborate places, and though they are built for the public, they seem quite pretentious. I guess I should get to my point. Although we "Hethens" of the world have all of nature to practice in, and know at all times that our Gods and Goddessses are with us, I find a longing in me to build them some thing here. I have an exact vision, and I honestly believe that American Gods brought out in me my life's purpose. So, maybe with a little help from my friends, and a gift of tons and tons of non-existant money, All of our eternal Dieties may once again find a place to take form once again, and reclaim at least some part of what they once were in a world of majik and love. OK, so now that you all know what a nut job I am, perhaps some of you would be interested in letting me know what you may about ancient Gods, Goddesses and Dieties around the world, and throughout the existance of man. Please share!

Hi Rebecca, I know what you mean about having a powerful reaction to American Gods. After reading the text I found myself mulling over the idea that our Gods die if we do not pray to them. For days I was chewing on the idea in the back of my mind. I was challenged by the notion that God could cease to exist if I forgot about Him. It got to where I found the proposition to really be saying that our prayers are what created the gods in the first place. Well, long story short, I rejected the proposition but do feel that it is a very seductive idea and in the context of American Gods, alot of fun to imagine about.
I think your project sounds like a great idea!
