New to this list. 64, male, Boston-based. Started reading American Gods last night. Today I started noticing that many of the stray dogs that roam the dark neighborhood of Naples (Quartiere San Lorenzo), Italy (where I am currently located) look much like jackals.
This novel commands all the senses. As I read I taste, smell, hear and see all that is going on.
Chapter 6 reminded me of the pyrotechnic episodes found in Mark Helprin, "A Winter's Tale" especially.
What an awesome and fantastic post! Just too awesome! This post has past my criteria for the best post award. And I think, this post has also given us the best knowledge. Cheers!-This message has been edited. Last edited by: patrick chen,
