What is the significance of the Drunkards dream?? Czernobog pulls Shadow aside in the House on the Rock and explains to him that, that is the real world... what does that mean??

I'll have to reread it, but maybe he's pointing out how the gods are but a dream of the world, and the world is dreaming always of newer and better gods? Like a drunken fool dreaming of pink elephants?

i think the shape that passes in the background of the Drunkard's dream is that of Mr. Ibis in his function as the Passer of the dead to the underworld, like the way Shadow encountered him later in the book.
I'm not sure what it all means though... death awaits all mortals or somethin? Quote from the song "Tesla", on Tarwater's last CD "Dwellers on the Threshold": ==It's not easy, being a god== We Await Silent Trystero's Empire |

Behind the stage, where only the players dare tread. A terrifying and deadly place for the audience.
"Forgive, O Lord, my little jokes on Thee and I'll forgive Thy great big one on me." - Robert Frost |
