The contest is for a speaking role in the audiobook of American Gods!

Yeah, I looked into it, but I have no signed up or submitted anything.

I would like to hear what other here do.

I would be more than happy to vote for anyone here of course.
I would also use whatever other social internet environments at my disposal to get a board member more votes.

Lan, I've signed up but you have to submit a recording of yourself reading an excerpt from American Gods. I probably won't be able to get that done til the weekend.

I don't have a voice anyone would want to hear reading a book. I mean, if the voice on the answering machine is any indication of what I sound like I should really just stop talking now!

Some of us have been around a while and know each other, but it is always good to new folks around. I hope you explore other parts of the Board, and post some more.

I am not too worried about the contest. It is not like I expect to be in the running. I just thought I would put it out there, probably tomorrow.

im going to wait a bit and give all of the submissions a good listen before voting...but yeah, i wish it wasnt just in the states, i'd like to at least attempt to make a submission

and hell, i can be in new york that day...its only about a 6 hour drive

@that scott guy --- I think more people should listen to all the submissions before voting too. But don't stress out if you think you've misplaced a vote or anything, because you are allowed one vote everyday until the contest ends!

I will! We ran in to microphone and software issues so recording has been postponed (we have a very small window of "quiet time" available after kids are in bed and before we have to be in bed too!)

Hey everyone! I've been a volunteer reader with Books Aloud for about 5 years( south bay area library for the disabled that sends special audiotapes as far as tanzania sometimes), so being a fan of Gaiman...I decided to enter the contest...cause I'm not a bad reader. Unfortunately, I'm not very popular in terms of my internet presence. To even be considered by gaiman, I'd have to be among the top 20 voted. So I'm putting this out there. Check out my audio clip...and compare it with the top 20 folks. If you think I'm a better reader for american gods, then vote for me..and spread the word.
