Surely Tori Amos would be ideal as Delirium? I know she influenced the character, she's au fait with the material, she friends with Neil, she's eccentric as hell and she has been in movies - Mona Lisa Smile as a singer. Can she act? Not sure that she would particularly have to.

Johnny Depp can play Morpheus IF, and ONLY IF, Tim Burton is the director. In which case the whole thing could be pulled off marvelously, provided we get the Depp we've seen in, say, Sleepy Hollow.

I don't think she'd be any good at it but I'd LOVE to see someone like Dakota Fanning ATTEMPT to pull of Delirium, for shits and giggles.

Desire needs to be Christina Ricci or someone of the like, hair nice and chopped.

Doesn't matter much who gets to play Despair much. I don't think anyone could be much good at portraying that.

Destruction... hmm... where's young Swayze when you need him? Just pull some blonde-haired, blue-eyed Marine off the streets and you're good to go.

Death's tricky. Need someone who call pull off "Peachy keen!" Can I volunteer myself? I'll dye my hair black! *shrug*

Angelina Jolie is (or at least tries to be) sensuous and erotic. Death in the Sandman books is mostly chirpy, sisterly and cute - she's sexy, but in a "goth girl next door" kind of way. I don't really see Angelina Jolie fitting in any way.

I wonder what would happen if Jolie tried to be chirpy...

eh, nevermind. probably something like the cosmos colliding or something. She can't act anyways. at the mention of the word "chirpy" I suddenly got a terrible image of Cameron Diaz in Death garb.

I vote that the only way Angelina Jolie should ever be allowed to play Death is if she's ritually sacrificed and brought back as a zombie.
