Yup, and Anna Paquin looks 15. Plus, she doesnt have the eyes. She could do a Delirium tho.

I mainly said Anna based on the way she looks on the X-Men 2 poster.

In the movie Hurlyburly, Anna Paquin plays a character who's consistently intoxicated. She looks exactly like Delirium, but, to my taste, she doesn't act convincingly "delirious." I didn't really buy the character. Anna Paquin's generally a good actress, but I don't think she can pull off this sort of role. She'd be a good choice for a silent film of Sandman, though.

Oh, and she's much too young to play Death.

Bowie should play Lucifer.

I love the Guy Pearce suggestion, but i have trouble with Dream as anyone. it's hard to imagine a human face on that ever shifting visage. maybe we could combine an idea a friend of mine had and mine, CGI Dream with the voice of Al Pacino. i know it's wrong, but imagine, Pacino giving one of those great powerful speeches of Dream's.
But for real... hmmm i'd say Jake Glynhall, cuz by the time it's made he'll be old enough.
if you don't know who jake Glynehall is, Shame on you, go out and rent Donnie Darko right now!

Jake Glynhall's the right age now. He's meant to look very young. Just some of the artists age him. Original description is 'a pale young man'.

Did WIZARD ever cast Sandman in one of their issues? They have been known to make comic casting calls in the past.

Why not have Kevin Spacey somehow involved? He's good at everything he does, and a place could be easily found for him.

I always thought of Kevin Spacey as Hob. Kevin Spacey as one of the Endless? Definitely Destiny.

From here she looks like she could easily be 30. And if you think that's old, you don't out enough!

For what it's worth, Claudia Salinger was played by Lacey Chabert. She's a very good actress-- currently voicing a character on The Wild Thornberries--although I have troubling imagining her as Death.

Just a few thoughts:

The Corinthian (from 'A Doll's House' and 'The Kindly Ones') - James Marsters

Desire - Hans Matheson. I've always felt that a male actor would be able to capture the female aspects of Desire better than a female could capture the male.

Dream - Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Glad to see I'm not alone here, I've althought thought Meyers would be ideal.

Delirium - Alison Lohman. She played Astrid in 'White Oleander'.

Death - Christina Ricci, Michelle Rodriguez, Anna Paquin, could go on

Destiny - Paul McGann, Laurence Fishburne, Hugo Weaving, could go on but won't

Lucifer - Jude Law

Rose Walker ('A Doll's House') - Kirsten Dunst

Lyta Hall (Daniel's mother) - Lili Taylor

Barbie ('A Doll's House', 'A Game of You') - Naomi Watts. Go Aussie, go.

Thessaly ('A Game of You', 'The Kindly Ones') - Jennifer Garner. Yes, the chick from 'Alias'

In case it's not obvious, I've never had a problem with the Endless family being played by actors of various races. So in the comic they're all white. You think creatures older than time itself would limit their physical appearances to maintaining genetic similarity? Smile

hi there!
i'm all for searching for lesser known actors to play Morpheus and the others. but because of my limited knowledge on American indie actors, i can only suggest the hollywood types....

morpheus: KEANU REEVES (let's forget for a while his limited acting ability which is really quite perfect for morpheus's unfeeling demeanor; keanu's tall, pale, thin enough, beautiful, and very boyish - let's not forget that morpheus should also be young-looking)
other choices: JOHNNY DEPP/JUDE LAW

orpheus: CHRIS KLINE (he does resemble Keanu/morpheus)

dream: JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS/JUDE LAW

lucifer: JUDE LAW or BRAD PITT (Pitt's beautiful and he can act)

rose walker: JULIA STILES (young and very good actress)

constantine: JAMES MARSTERS or JUDE LAW

death: ANNA PAQUIN

desire: HILLARY SWANK

titania: ANGELINA JOLIE / CATHERINE ZETA-JONES

calliope: CAMERON DIAZ / NICOLE KIDMAN

chaos: the little girl/kidman's daughter in THE OTHERS

that's all for now =)

~ it always rains on the unloved ~

Quoting Zoneseek:

"Johnny Depp, Johnny Depp!! Come on, Edward Scissorhands! My friends and I have been saying that someone should make a Sandman movie before Depp gets too old."

Dude, he's like 40 already. And yet he looks no older. Something spooky going on there.

I think he's a bit too pretty anyway. My vote goes with either John Rhys-Miers or James Marsters (try and get the image of Spike out of your head when you're imagining this).

Oh, and I should mention that I really don't beleive in the idea of a Sandman film. It could only ever be a dissapointment....
