Towards the end of the Sandman comic's run, I read an excellent essay or editorial that Mr. Gaiman wrote concerning potential disappointment in the ending he was presenting.
Essentially it summed up that this was his ending and if you were unhappy with it then you could go on to create your own.
I have been trying for decades to find this essay as I think it most excellently provides a retort for all the people who are disappointed with how things were ended by the creators. (I.e. Game of Thrones, LOST, etc.)
So I am asking if anyone can point me to where I can find this essay. Or, better still, if they could provide me directly with said essay.
