Hello everybody ...

Last week a friend asked me to take some pictures of the Endless ... I thought it was quite a cool idea and I own a camera so thats what i did ...

I like the results but are these pics good enough to please the fans? ... do they hit the mark or are they way off target?

Dispair - Penny Dreadful
Dream - Marc De groot
Destruction - Ravensblood
Death - Druidess of Midian
Destiny - Spitfire Punk
Desire - Sugar Cain
Delerium - Tara Trash

All in all pretty cool.
Though I thought the guy playing Dream was haming it up in the pic with him and Death.
Besides that great job.

What a great idea. Agreed that Dream comes across as hammy. I love Delirium though - she makes me think of Paris Hilton a little. I also like how Despair's face is shadowed in the 1st photo. That could be a portrait all on its own.

Great job.

Destiny looks too young, and dream is far too happy in the pic with his sis.
could have tailored Desire's suit more, but as you can see, im nit picking now.

Good job.

Cheers peeps ... agreed on the hamming it up bit ... thats the trouble with these creative types heh heh ...

we didnt get everyone we wanted so had to make a couple of substitutions and the props and outfits had to be got together with what we had to hand on the day ...

I think I might photograph some other Gaiman characters ... any suggestions?

Hmmm...How about assorted characters from American Gods?

Maybe Good Omens: I've always wondered how the modern-day Horsemen, Crowley, and Aziraphale would look.

Haha! I really anjoyed this. And I'm sure it was great fun shooting it!

I find it very funny (and accurate) how Dream and Destiny are the only two being serious in the first picture. Everybody else is either sulking or mucking about.

Delirium is very good. Both the dress and the girl, I think she acted the part quite well. And I like how she's not entirely in her 80's style get-up like in the books, but in something more modern/emo/punk.

Desire is not entirely androngynous enough, but looks quite devious, (especially in the first and last picture) which I think is more to the point.

Dream's dark skin is probably the least accurate aspect, but he looks like an arogant asshole most of the time, which is close to the truth :-)

And then my favourite: Despair. I think your Despair in better than anyone else's and here's why:

The twins each have a little of the other. Desire can't exist without Despair. In fact, deire more often than not has despair as a cause. Therefore I would like to see the two more closely linked. Desire is always depicted as attractive, but there is something that you fear and despise as well (especially in it's behaviour, as with most lovers), and it's that which makes you despair.

Despair should therefore also have a form of beauty that would give you hope, because if you had no hope, you would not despair at being disappointed. I hate that Despair is seen as predominantly ugly and unpleasant. She should have redeeming features that would make your loss greater and your despair altogether more tangible.

You have achieved that. She is moping, she is unpleasant, but there is also something sadly beautiful about her. It makes you feel despair.

Aftrerall, I find it's the beautiful ones who despair more when facing themselves in the mirror...

Anyway, all in all, I enjoyed this immensely!
