Hi everyone,
I need the help of a knowledgeable Gaiman fan. I remember that in one episode of Sandman or the 'Death' spinoff, there is a scene where a very old (5000 years?) man is killed by accident when a load of bricks falls on him. At first he is angry because he was 'so careful', but then reflects that he got a pretty good lifespan. Death comments that he got what everyone else gets, 'a life'. I really want to use this scene for an academic paper I am writing. Unfortunately, my copies were destroyed in a flood about a year ago, and the library's collection is incomplete, so if someone knows which book this is in, that would save me a heap of time. Any ideas? |

its in the trade brief lives, he's one of the people that delerium knew that was one of distructions friends.
~ I prefer to live in a country that's small, and old, and where no one would ever have the NERVE to wear a cape in public, whether they could leap tall buildings in a single bound or not. trolls are like pigeons..keep feeding them and they keep coming back and shitting in your street. |

Brief Lives, fairly early on in the book. He was one of Destruction's friends and his name was Bernie Capax. James Wandering, but not lost. "You are a Knight Errant. All of the fun of rescuing damsels, and none of the paperwork." |
