I tend to have fairly vivid dreams, and so from time to time, I take to writing them down. Generally, they fade from mind, but every once in a while I look them up again. I first heard of The Sandman comics from a friend in 2005, and became an instant fan. Recently, I've started buying my own copies - which inspired me, in part, to go back and look over the old dreams I used to write down.

Opening a file dated December 2003, however, I found the following record. In the middle of a nightmare, I closed my eyes and found myself somewhere else. I was in strange room with two men who I thought looked like brothers. I told them about my nightmare; and then one of them opened a window which looked out onto a different dream. I climbed through and became involved in it. Just before it ended, however, one of the brothers returned and gave me an envelope with a gift inside - and as soon as I opened it, the dream changed again.

After reading The Sandman, this strongly reminds me of Cain and Able appearing in people's dreams, even though I'd never heard of the comics at the time. If nothing else, it goes to show how well Gaiman describes dreams. Has anyone else had any Sandman-esque dreams that they can remember?

I actually dreamed about dream recently. although it was after reading quite a glut of sandman so maybe it is more easily explained!
but i was in a dream (i think a fairly bad one), which i then realised was a dream and i called on morpheus to come and (i think) explain the dream to me, or sort it out or something. and he did come, and we talked as he talks to people in dreams throughout the sandman, and it made a lot of sense. although i can't remember now what he said.

Two days ago I actually dreamt of Neil. But now that I realize it, it could have been Dream pretending to be Neil because he was wearing Dream's cape.
