There's a new TPB collected volume that was released recently, Evensong (nr. 11), and Dream appears on a few pages. I haven't read it yet but it looks like he and Lucifer have a discussion.
I had assumed the series had ended with nr. 10, it seemed final enough. Apparently not.
I'm sure chimeer has finished Evensong by now, but for anyone else reading this for the first time, let me make a clarification. In Evensong, Lucifer is speaking to Morpheus as Dream, not Daniel as Dream. It is a flashback to Seasons of Mist when Lucifer gives Dream the Key to Hell. I'm not positive, but I think Mike Carey expanded or added new dialogue. I don't think it is verbatem from Sandman.

There is an agreement between Neil and DC that DC will not use the Sandman characters without Neil's approval but it's not really a legally binding contract so to speak. Basically Neil told them that he would never work for them again if they continued the series and of course DC wants to keep the celebrated creator happy so he will continue to do projects for them. Also there are other appearances of the characters outside of the main series before and after the comic ended. Morpheus appears in "Swamp Thing" in the issue where Matthew Cable dies thus enlisting him as his new raven. Death appears in an issue of Capt. Atom. These are two old appearances off the top of my head. Then of course there was the series "The Dreaming" which launched after Sandman finished and had at least one appearance of Matthew that I can remember. There was a story in Justice League America that featured Daniel as well. I'd have to look through my "Archives" for any more but I'm fairly certain there are. Of course none of these are Neil stories, just appearances of his characters. There is one extremely rare, unpublished two page story featuring the Sandman characters that was done as a "Jam" project at the Fiddler's Green convention as well. It's a neat little piece and I suggested to Neil that it be printed as an extra in one of the Absolute volumes but I doubt it'll happen.
"Everything to keep getting. Never enough, not enough, never ending."

It is, as I recall. A story I'd like to see is Morpheus' afterlife.
I will not be chained to reality like so many have before. Let the apples fall to the ground; I'll spread my wings & soar.
