hey i got a question,
i havent read the "books of faerie", i heard it is a spin off from "books of magic" (Riebers series, not Gaiman's). i heard somewhere that in books of faerie, Titania is revealed to be a woman from the middle ages who moved to the land of faerie and became queen. but in Gaiman's Sandman stories involving Titania, i always got the impression that she was very old.

in Midsummer's Night Dream, Dream treats Auberon and Titania and faerie collectively like old old friends. the host of faerie arrive through an ancient door in the hills.

and in Fables and Recollections, Cluracan's tale, Titania vaguely remembers Clurican's last excursion into this other realm that occurred approx 1000ys earlier. this would seem to imply that Titania must be at least over 1000 yrs old, to be a contemporary of Cluracan. therefore she cannot be a woman from the middle ages.

so what's up with Titania's origin in does books of faerie- does it make any sense? has anyone read it?
