Been reading the Bible, mainly because I've run out of other things to read, and I found an interesting reference in Judges 1:23-26 to a guy who led the Israelites into his town and went on to found a city called Luz. Is this the reference I think it is?

Spite. That's Why.

Interesting but I think it's a coincidence.

"Luz" is a Spanish personal name, equivalent to "Lucy." (And also usually considered to be a short form of María de la Luz - Mary of Light ... .)

The critter named Luz in "A Game of You" is a colorful parrot, so it's not too odd that she would have a Spanish name (because of the Latin American connection w/ parrots).

Note that "Lucifer" has the same connection - it means "light bearer." And it wouldn't surprise me that Gaiman might be thinking of that, as well.

P.S. I hope that wasn't too much info ... I love names ... Big Grin

You are a Confectioner. Who can take a sunrise and sprinkle it with dew? Actually, that's Bob The Enchanter, two doors down on the left. But you make delectable treats, which is no simple feat considering Oompa Loompas won't be invented for three centuries. Not only do you delight with your sweets, but you've paved the way for a new profession: dentistry!

Don't have a Bible handy at the moment. Can you tell me if something happens in the city of Luz? And which judge is it?

I forgot to say - the town the guy went to - he founded it, and he called it Luz. That may be more relevant.
