Been reading the Bible, mainly because I've run out of other things to read, and I found an interesting reference in Judges 1:23-26 to a guy who led the Israelites into his town and went on to found a city called Luz. Is this the reference I think it is?

Interesting but I think it's a coincidence.
"Luz" is a Spanish personal name, equivalent to "Lucy." (And also usually considered to be a short form of MarÃa de la Luz - Mary of Light ... .) The critter named Luz in "A Game of You" is a colorful parrot, so it's not too odd that she would have a Spanish name (because of the Latin American connection w/ parrots). Note that "Lucifer" has the same connection - it means "light bearer." And it wouldn't surprise me that Gaiman might be thinking of that, as well. - Cho P.S. I hope that wasn't too much info ... Don't have a Bible handy at the moment. Can you tell me if something happens in the city of Luz? And which judge is it? ____________________________________________________________________ "Patriotism is defined as the last resort of a scoundrel. I forgot to say - the town the guy went to - he founded it, and he called it Luz. That may be more relevant.
