What's up people,
I was just curious if someone could clarify the different editions that are available of the Sandman series in TPB form. I got the first volume a while back (1991 printing) and want to start getting the rest, but since I'm an uber-geek, I want to make sure I get the rest in the same edition. Anyone know what edition the 1991 printing is, good place to find them,...? Thanks.

Normally I'd say look here at the visual bibliography that fellow mod, GMZoe, created, but it doesn't look like he's done all the collected gn editions.

I'll be sure that he sees this thread, though.

Here's the breakdown on the Sandman collections:
*Original hardcovers - all mismatched covers, no unified theme. Two of the volumes don't have dustjackets, the rest do
*Original paperbacks - all mismatched covers, different than the hardcover covers.
*Doll's house in these early editions has two differnt covers. This is because DH was the first collection released, just called "The Sandman" on the cover. Once the other collections started coming out, the came out with another one with the title
*'Rainbow' sets - hardcover and tpb have same covers. All the volumes have a unified theme, cover is toned, say, green or yellow
*'Black' sets - hardcover and tpb have same covers. All the volumes have a unified theme, cover primarily black
*If you wait til a little later this year, there's the new, revamped Absolute Sandman editions coming out. Big, slipcased, remastered editions. Very spiffy.

One is Season of Mists, which one is the other one?

My hardover of The Wake is without a dustjacket. Guess that'll be the one, though it's the UK edition so it may be different for US ones.
