I've always wondered about the following lyric from The Cure's If Only Tonight We Could Sleep:
Then an angel would come With burning eyes like stars And bury us deep In his velvet arms That's a dead-ringer for the Sandman. Is there a connection? |

Neil based Dream's partly look on Robert Smith's non-robotic form, so he probably listend to alot of Cure

The Cure and Sandman the thought makes me go mushy in the knees. It makes sense, I just haven't thought long on it.
My only issue for the cross over of that particular song is that the dates are rather close with "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me" coming out in 1987 and Sandman starting in 1988. But still can see the connection. ------Win the Artwork in my Icon while supporting CBLDF check it out on my LJ bloodroseflower http://bloodroseflower.livejournal.com/8267.html or my website!!------------- |

The Cure's lyrics are exactly like poetry I wrote when I was 15 before I even listened to them.
Sandman was what I was reading when I was 15 Coincidence? Probably |

Or maybe its that your poetry was inspired by mussy black hair. Represented well in both cases.
