Is there or will there ever be a collected edition of all the Sandman graphic novels issued that I could buy? I`ve only got "Nocturnes and Preludes" at this point, although I have borrowed ( and been made to return) friends` copies of the others. Only I really would like to own the lot for obvious reasons...

I'm not sure if the first 10 trade paperbacks are in a set, or not. Bland had mentioned having some in a boxset; it wasn't the complete set. It was like the first three or something. GMZoe will know for sure. The first ten of the series (up to The Wake) are in print as trade paperbacks, about $20 each. Endless Nights and Dream Hunters (follow ups to the series) should still be around in hardcover.

Have you gone to your bookstore and asked?

I did ask once only to be told that they don`t stock comics. About the only option I can see involves making the train journey to London and visiting Forbidden Planet.

I prefer to live in a country that's small, and old, and where no one would ever have the NERVE to wear a cape in public, whether they could leap tall buildings in a single bound or not.

All of the Sandman collections remain in print. It's available in 10 numbered volumes, with four volumes to the side: Death: The High Cost Of Living; Death: The Time Of Your Life; Sandman: Dreamhunters; Sandman: Endless Nights. All are available in paperback. The main 10 volumes are kept in print in hardback as well, though you'll probably have to special order those. The main 10 volumes will cost roughly $200 American in paperback.

The entire series in one box set hasn't happened yet. In the US, there was once a box set of the first three volumes together, but that's been out of print for years. In the UK, there were, I believe, some box sets of the volumes with three or so volumes in each set. I have no idea if all the volumes were available like that or if those are still in print.

The books are available in bookshops, comic shops, and online at places like neilgaiman.net or amazon.com

I happen to live in the village of Stones Cross, not far from Pevensey Castle and close to where William the Bastard landed in 1066. The nearest major town is the retirement resort of Eastbourne. This has a Waterstones and a WH Smith, neither of which stock graphic novels. A branch of Ottakars does exist up the coast at Hastings though.

I will take a look at the ebay site, just as soon as I can remember what in hell my login and password were. I`ve largely avoided auctions as I`m rather competitive and inclined to overbid.

I'm supprised they wouldn't order them in for you, even if they don't generally stock them - turning away customers = always a bad move!

I know, and the kicking thing is that I`ve always wanted to work in a bookstore but I ended up in Catering and I`m about to start an OU course in website design.

Ok, drawn my sword and gone into battle in ebay.uk. It`s a real sword too, with an edge, so I should emerge victorious... and I`ll have something to read in jail Wink

Cos I saw one of those boxed sets you mentioned. It includes the first eight of the series.

Well if you ever make it to the UK, I`d be happy to let you read it. Be warned... I can count.
