Let me be the first to say I know absolutely NOTHING about comics in general. However, I do know a collector who lists "Sandman" among his favorites. I am looking for the perfect Christmas gift for this person! It is my understanding that there are several misprinted editions which are quite valuable in some circles. I've managed to locate one of them on eBay (#19). But a second misprint edition is proving quite difficult to track down. Assuming that I could afford it, is there any place I could look, where I might actually find issue #18??

The issue #19 misprint is far easier to find than the issue #18 misprint. I've only seen 2 or 3 of the #18 misprints come up for sale, and they went for more than $100. If you're looking for items in that price range, you may as well buy a sketch by one of the Sandman artists off of ebay, as you're more likely to find one of those than #18 within a given timeframe.

Suggestion: go to neilgaiman.net. It's the official Neil Gaiman online store. It includes some rarities as well as in print books and many of the items have been signed by Neil

Just checked out the website. Unfortunately, no luck finding #18. $100 isn't an unreasonable price. I'm guessing you don't know of any that are up for sale now ??
What I meant in the earlier post was, I've been watching ebay on and off for at least the last half decade. The last year, with the exception of one or two months, I've been watching it fairly nonstop. In that time, I've seen 2 or 3 copies come up for sale, and that's it. A glance didn't show any on ebay or abebooks right now. I think it's highly unlikely that you'll find the issue before Christmas. If you do, that's great! I'm just trying to suggest you expand your search to other possible items. I suggested neilgaiman.net not as a place that'd have it, but as a place that'd have other items by Neil, many signed. Finding art by Sandman artists is feasible too, and if you want to go that route, PM me and I can see if I can help you.

I guess Christmas might be too soon. But it would be just as nice as a birthday gift... That gives me just under a year to find it. I bought #19 on ebay, but have been unable to find #18. Well, not the misprint anyway. I'm pretty committed to finding it, so I guess I'll just keep looking. I'd appreciate a heads-up if you come across one, if it's not too much trouble. (As I said, $100 is more than reasonable.) Thanks!
