Helena Bonham Carter. I think she'd make a great Death.

“Chives?”
“Yes, m’lud?”
“Is that Ms Ephemera hovering over the croquet lawn?”
“Indeed m’lud. She’s marshalled all the haggle-dans. Missy-twigs and vale-nymphs from Claypole Woods. Apparently she intends to tear this house down and dance on the ruins.”
“Well, Chives, you’d better start the car, what? And pack my tennis things too”

She's the one...thanks Alaura. And Brad Pitt would be the perfect Dream (kidding). Very cool name, by the way. Where does it come from and can i steal it for a story character?

She'd be great, but hopefully they can make her look 10 years younger...

Hello,

does anyone have an email address or somewhere I can write to Chris Bachalo? I just need to ask a teeny tiny question and am not a stalker, nor a budding comic book artist!

I think Brittany Murphy in "Drive" (1997) was entertainingly insane, but then again, she was probably an unknown then, so maybe it's best to use an appropriate unknown than a name.
There must be loads of actresses out there who could do a great job of it that we've never heard of.

For a "name" person, I liked the Helena Bonham Carter suggestion, or perhaps there's Fairuza Baulk, or Debi Mazar, or for a bit of Warner Brother flavour-of-the-month celebrity casting - Avril Lavigne?

no... but alot of comic book artists and writers (not Neil) hang around on messege boards (not this one). you could try poking around forums.comicbookresources.com or various Vertigo forums, i guesss

i'm just guessing, based on the fact that Brian Micheal Bendis & Warren Ellis post on their boards

I am a member of a website where you can vote on who you want to play certain characters, and even directors, of imaginary casts. It's called

www.imaginecasting.com

Someone put the Sandman there. Just go to "search" and enter sandman. When you get registered, you can express your opinion there.

I'm not nuts about her either but she's closer then Helen Bonham Carter whose too old and looks weird. I think an unknown would probably be best. Hey, for all we know there might be a young hopeful out there that's Dee's doppleganger.

I've just had a look at the previous page and I have to agree that the girl in the picture looks the part, albeit a younger version of it. How long ago was that movie made?

Okay I recently didn't have anything better to do so I looked up mini-Death (can't remember her name) on IMDB. She'd be about 18 or so now which is about the right age to play Death. On the down side she's french so the accent will be a problem. There wasn't a recent photo so I don't know if she still looks right.

Brad Pitt should be Constantine
think about how seedy he was in 12 Monkeys and Fight Club

i think Helena Bonham Carter would be good... if she's good enough for Tim Burton, she should be good enough for ya'll... :-p

The only well known youngish actress who I think has the talent to play Death is Kiera Knightly.

Wether or not anyone looks "Goth" is irrelevant. Thats what they have makeup people and costume designers for.

Well. Yeah, in my mind Death will always remind me of Mia Kirshner. Dark features, pale-skinned, charming smile. Yup. Mia.
