My favorite tale was Sandman #50, "Distant Mirrors-Ramadan." As an American who has spent some time in Egypt, I have learned a bit about Middle Eastern culture, and Neil's story resonates all the more deeply with the lived experience. I felt so bad for Haroun al-Rashid having to give up his dream city and accept base reality. The poignancy of the story line and the rich art really struck me, and I recommend this one to readers wondering where to dig in to Sandman.

What about others here? Favorite Sandman tale, and why...

I concur. Read it today in observance (even though I'm not of the faith). My wife and I like to read aloud to one another. I had to have her take over at the end as I was tearing up and sputtering and stuttering. It always gets me. Beautiful story, Neil. Thank you.
